"Okay, now this is exactly what I needed to see," Mei said, stepping in way too close, eyes flicking over the torn suit like it was a blueprint.
Before you could react, she was already circling you again, muttering a mix of tech jargon and barely-coherent theories under her breath.
"Compression ratio looks a little outdated—this material doesn't respond well to kinetic shift anymore."
"We're gonna have to swap the polymer blend. Maybe throw in some adaptive threading—oh! And reinforced balance strips down the spine for torque distribution!"
"Hatsume—" you started, trying to shift away slightly.
She didn't even hear you.
Or if she did, she didn't care.
Her hands slid right down your waist, fingers lightly tracing the seams and worn edges like she was mapping pressure points. "Hmm. The waistline still hugs well, though. Decent alignment. Movement might still be fluid under strain."
You squirmed a little, still holding one arm across your chest in a sad attempt at modesty. "This is kinda—uh—exposed."
"Hands behind your back," Mei said distractedly, already holding up her tape measure. "You're blocking the visual data."
You hesitated.
Bakugo, still off to the side, hadn't said a word.
But you could feel his eyes on you.
You exhaled, slow and resigned, and brought your arms behind you.
The move made everything worse.
Your chest shifted, the torn fabric revealing even more than before—not inappropriate, but definitely not subtle.
Mei didn't hesitate.
She leaned in, squinted at the rip along the side of your bust, and—without warning—poked your boob.
You jumped slightly as your hands instinctively covered your chest, eyebrows flying up. "Excuse me?!"
"Relax," Mei said, completely unbothered as she dragged your hands down. "I was checking the elasticity here. You've got good form tension. That tear's gonna need restructuring, though. Maybe even add tension pads to the lining for safety..."
