December 25th, Wednesday - 7:37 pm

The early evening air nipped at your skin as you stood at the front door of your childhood home, your arms full of carefully wrapped gifts.

The sky above had dimmed to that soft, golden hue that marked the beginning of evening.

You were bundled in your oversized sweater, sleeves nearly covering your hands, the soft fabric brushing against your favorite pants.

And on your feet, your favorite pair of heeled boots tapped lightly against the front step, grounding your look with a touch of casual polish.

A small smile tugged at your lips as you stood outside the door, balancing the presents with ease thanks to the subtle lift of your Quirk.

The handles hovered slightly above your wrists, the weight barely noticeable anymore.

You reached up and pressed the doorbell, then leaned back and waited patiently in the crisp air.

From inside, you heard the muffled sound of your mother's familiar voice call out, calm and commanding. "Hasuke, hun! Can you get that?"

There was a pause before a lower voice called back lazily, "Yeah, in a sec."

You rocked lightly on your heels, eyes scanning the front porch, your breath misting out in puffs.

The warmth from inside was so close now, just a thin wooden door away.

"Hasuke! The door!" your mom called again, sharper this time.

"I'm on it!" the deeper voice answered, clearly irritated but moving.

You heard the thudding of footsteps approaching, your brother's signature stomp.

The lock clicked, the knob turned, and the front door creaked open.

Standing there was Hasuke, with his ever-messy hair and an expression that was equal parts surprise and confusion.

"What the hell?" he said, brows raised.

You gave him a mock-offended look, your smile widening. "Wow, that's the welcome I get?"

He stepped back to let you in, brushing a hand through his unruly hair with a smirk tugging at one side of his mouth. "Nobody told me you'd be coming."

"Really? Mom didn't warn you?" you said with a raised brow, stepping inside and shrugging the cold off your shoulders.

Hasuke scoffed, closing the door behind you with a click. "Nope. Guess she forgot about you," he teased, the smug grin on his face as casual as ever.

You tilted your head, lips curling into a matching smirk. "Or maybe she did, and your pea-sized brain forgot."
