The sun was low now, casting soft shadows over the pavement as you and Bakugo made your way through the quiet residential block leading to your apartment complex.
The evening air was warm, just breezy enough to rustle your sweater slightly as you walked.
Bakugo walked beside you, holding both leashes in one hand with practiced ease—Michi trailing with surprising grace, tail flicking with each step, and Taiyo trotting contently at his side, tongue lolling out.
You tucked your hands into your sleeves, the moment calm, your footsteps falling into rhythm with his.
It was quiet for a while.
Not awkward—just peaceful.
You glanced over at him. "You really didn't have to hold both of them, you know. I would've taken Michi at least."
He shrugged. "They listen better to me."
You snorted. "Wow. Arrogant much?"
"Just honest."
You shook your head, smiling to yourself as you walked the last few steps toward the entrance.
Bakugo opened the glass door and held it for you, not saying a word.
You stepped in with a small smile as the two animals followed behind, their leashes taut in his hand.
The building was clean and well-lit, humming faintly with the overhead lights.
You made your way to the elevator together, your footsteps echoing slightly off the tile floor.
Once inside, you turned and pressed the button for your floor.
Bakugo stood beside you, quiet, one hand resting on the leash handles while the other hung loosely at his side.
Michi plopped onto the floor again, tail curling in that satisfied way she always did when she knew she had your attention.
You glanced at the buttons lighting up as the elevator began to ascend, then turned slightly toward him. "I hope I didn't leave my place a mess before I left the house."
Bakugo glanced sideways at you, brows lifting just a little. "I wouldn't care."
You smiled, shaking your head. "You sure? What if Michi peed on the floor and I didn't clean it?"
That made him turn his head fully, eyes slightly wide. "You didn't."
You laughed, placing a hand on your hip, the other holding the rail behind you. "I would never."
