BAFANA MESULI MAJOLA

I tried going back to my place yesterday but mom didn't allow us to leave. Today i woke up pretty early, so I decided to call my woman after getting ready for the day.

Ntokozo: "Baby?"

Me: "How are you my love?"

Ntokozo: "I'm good baby wena? I miss you."

Me: "I will come see you today, yezwa?"

Ntokozo: "Okay babe." our call gets disturbed by mom knocking on my door and she enters.

Mom: "Good morning Fana kamama."

Me: "What happened to waiting until you're invited in?!"

Mom: "Yini, uvalele yini la?!" she asks looking around. Ntokozo laughs on the phone and that peaks mom's curiosity.

Me: "Cha mah."

Mom: "Who's that on the phone?"

Me: "No one mah."

Mom: "Come on Fana, let me see." she says already grabbing my phone out of my hand.

Mom: "Sawubona." They continue talking for a while and I have turned into a third wheel. When they finish, she hangs up the phone.

Me: "Hawu?"

Mom: "What? She had to rush to work phela." I sigh then get up.

Mom: "Woza, breakfast is ready." I get up and follow her to the dining room. Everyone is already sitting on the table, I sit next to dad on purpose

Dad: "Yewena mfana, ungazohlanya, suka la! That's my wife's seat." I laugh and move to sit next to Swe.

While we eating, a knock from the front door disrupts us and dad gets up to go check. It takes a long while before he comes back.

Mom: "Who was it?!"

Dad: "I think we are being tested la mkami." he says emerging with two police officers and an old woman in a wheelchair.

Mom: "Ufunani lomama kwami?!"

Dad: "These officers say she gave them our address and said we are the only family she has left."

Mom: "I'm sorry, what?!" she asks looking mortified and angry.

Police officer 1: "We apologise for the disturbance and any inconveniences caused by this situation, we are just doing our job. This woman was hurt in prison earlier this year and it resulted to her being in a wheelchair therefore the commander and judge suggested she be house-arrested."

Mom: "Listen to me Mr Officer, I don't care if she is paralysed or dead! I don't want this woman in my house! If you do not turn back with her, you might just come back here to arrest me!"

Police officer 2: "Ma'am, we also learnt that she is your mother."

Mom: "She is not my mother! Her daughter is all the way in CapeTown! Take her there or shove her in an old age home!"

Dad: "Lalelani ke madoda! Y'all have angered my wofe enough, take this cripple out of my yard before I report y'all for harassment and abuse to your boss! PHUMANI!" The officers leave pushing the old lady out. Mom excuses herself and dad follows her.

Sqalo: "I have to rush to work." he says and quickly dashes off, leaving me with three pairs of curious eyes. They are all starung at me as if waiting for some sort of explanation.

Me: "I also don't know anything, let's just go out but clean up first." They don't waste any time, they all get up and start clearing the table. They only excited to go spend my money nje. I go upstairs and knock on the parent's door, dad answers the door.

Dad: "Yini?"

Me: "You kids want answers from me and I don't know anything so I bribed them with taking them out."

Dad: "Okay thank you man."

Me: "Sure, I need your car keys and your card."

Dad: "Mxm!" he says going back inside to get his wallet and keys. He hands them to me and closes the door on my face.
