It has been two weeks since my man woke up and the doctors refuse to discharge him just yet. I was packing some of the food I had cooked in a container for him. I added a couple of fruits and some snacks and loaded everything in a lunchbag.

Xoli: "Mama, can we come with?" she asked holding a sleeping Iyana.

Me: "Asambe, I'm leaving now." We walked to the car and I placed everything on the passenger seat before opening the backseat for her. As soon as they were both comfortable, I got in the driver seat and drove off.

Me: "Where is your sister?"

Xoli: "Mah?!" This one is such a bad liar, just like her father.

Me: "Ungizwile Nosihle and don't you dare lie to me!"

Xoli: "She was in her room." I glance at her in the review mirror and she looks away. I nod.

Me: "I will tell your father so he can beat the four of you together."

Xoli: "Hhaaa mah!"

We finally get to the hospital and we walk inside. I sign us in and then proceed to walk through the corridors.

Iyana: "ichama." is the first thing she said waking up.

Me: "Will you manage baby?!"

Xoli: "Yes mah."

Me: "Okay, you will find me in your father's ward, okay?." she nods and walks off to the bathrooms. I greet the two guards in front of Lizwi's door, who look surprised. I open the door and what do you know!

Me: "Am I disturbing? Should I come back later?!" I ask them. Lizwi sheepishly looks away wiping his lips.

Mandisa: "Oh? Hi babes."

Lizwi: "No! She was leaving."

Mandisa: "Oh yes, I'm sorry sisi." now she will act nice?Nx! She quickly runs out of the room.

Me: "You're disgusting! I'm just glad the kids didn't witness this!"

Lizwi: "Why didn't you tell me that she is alive?!"

Me: "Yini?! You want her back?! Why should I have told you?!"

Lizwi: "She is my ex-wife Letho, someone I once knew and had a child with." I scoff.

Me: "Yazi uyanginye-" I'm cut off by the door opening and Xoli walks in with Iyana.

Xoli: "Babah!" she rushes to him.

Me: "I need some air. I will be back." Iyana decides to follow me so I hold her hand and we walk out of the ward.

Lizwi: "Hawu Letho, the bag?!" He shouts. I ignore him and contine walking. Lizwi ungijwayela amas*mba!

Iyana: "Mama." she taps my leg.

Me: "Yes baby?"

Iyana: "Iyana, hungry." she signs.

Me: "Okay let's go get you a happy meal." I text Xoli to let me know when she wants me to fetch her since I'm leaving. My phone rings just as I drive out.

Me: "Nqobile?"

Nqo: "Where are you Letho? I need you."

Me: "I'm heading to Sandton mall right now."

Iyana: "Letho!" she screams then giggles alone making me chuckle. She copies everything we say now so we have to be careful all the time of what we say around her.

Nqo: "Who's that?!"

Me: "Your granddaughter." They hadn't met Iyana but they knew about her.

Nqo: "What?! Unamanga! Listen I will meet you at the mall oe."

Me: "Okay babes, sure."

Surprisingly we find Nqo already waiting for us near Spur. We walk towards her with Iyana clinging onto my shirt.

Me: "Hey you!" we hug.

Nqo: "Unjani babes?"

Me: "I'm good. You don't look good so I won't even ask now." she had dark circles around her eyes.

Nqo: "Hey cutie." she said playing with Iyana's cheeks who frown removing her hands from her face.

Me: "She won't let you touch her until she's used to you oe."

Nqo: "Weeeh! uSqalo was like that too esamncane, uyakhumbula?!"

Me: "Yeah. I guess like father, like daughter." I say laughing.

Nqo: "Let's go inside oe, I'm hungry." We head inside Spur and find a table. A waiter takes our orders and leaves some coloring materials for Iyana.

Me: "What is going on ngawe?!"  She huffs rubbing her face.

Nqo: "I'm pregnant." I stop for a moment trying to digest what she just said.

Me: "I beg your fvckin' pardon?" I gritt. she quickly wipes her tears sniffing.

Nqo: "I know friend. It was a moment of weakness."

Me: "Who's is it?!"

Nqo: "Thabani." I'm shooketh

Me: "Angizwanga?! The same Thabani who..."

Nqo: "Yes, him." The waiter places our food on the table and leave. I help Iyana by cutting her nuggets into smaller portions.

Me: "How did you let that happen, Nqo?!"

Nqo: "Nondaba was away and I went out with Thabani afterwork then one thing led to another."

Me: "Why would you even go out with another when you're married Nqobile?!" she shrugs. I huff and hug her, comforting her. This is a mess.

I only get home in the evening with a sleeping Iyana who was crying for Nqo all of a sudden. I walk in through the door and immediately halt in my steps when I notice Lizwi and Mandisa sitting on my couch and KaMajola on another couch. I greet softly running my eyes through every person.

Fana: "I'm sorry, i'm late." he rumbles walking in through the sliding door. I scoff when it registers what is happening. I adjust Iyana properly on my shoulder and walk to my bedroom. I carefully place her on my bed before undressing. I wrap a towel around my body and go take a shower. I take a quick shower and rush to my closet and change into my pyjamas.

Fana: "Mama!" i hear him shout outside the door.

Me: "Ngiyeza." I open the door for him. He hugs me tightly.

Fana: "You're the only mother I know I have. Dad and Gogo can go shove that woman wherever she popped out of!"

Me: "I love you."

Fana: "I love you too mommy. Where's Iyana? I want us to call her aunt." he grin walking past me to the bed.

Fana: "Iyana." he wakes her up.

Me: "You will only leave this house after putting her back to sleep weFana!"
