I don't know how many numbers I've blocked this week because Devone keeps calling me with different numbers. I haven't had the courage to confront him about that woman. I have been avoiding my family too and I know that they are aware that something is going on with me.

I had just finished bathing, was now getting dressed. I settled for a long white dress with thin straps and a denim jacket on top. I wear my shoes then finally get out of my room. If it was up to me, I wouldn't have come out of my room but I had to, for my parents and my late sibling that was being honoured.

I greet gogoh and her guests that were occupying the living room. I walk into the kitchen to make a snack for myself since I can tell by the aromas in the air that real food was still being cooked.

Fana: "Ya macasha!"

Me: "Bhuti."

Fana: "Come here." he pulls me into his arms, I just burst out crying. He silently brushes my back.

Fana: "Don't cry." I finally quieten down. He wipes my tears and plants a kiss on my forehead.

Fana: "What did he do?"

Me: "Bhuti?"

Fana: "Talk or I will call your father and you will have to tell him yourself."

Me: "He lied to me."

Fana: "About?"

Me: "Can I not tell you now?"

Fana: "No, talk!"

Me: "A week ago, when I was in the mall with Xoli. Some woman approached us at Foodlovers and started telling me to stay away from her man because he is a father and a husband."

Fana: "Did you talk to him?"

Me: "No." I whisper fiddling with my hands.

Fana: "Were there any suspicious signs that may have given you an indication that what that woman said is true?!"

Me: "No." he sighs.

Fana: "Just talk to him and hear what he has to say."

Me: "Ok."

Fana: "I'm not saying get back with him but hear him out and then make a decision." I nod quietly.

Gogoh: "Go outside and help your brother and sister."

Me: "Ok." I walk out. Mom and aunt stare at me until I stand next to Xoli who looks so nervous.

Me: "Sanibonani. Gogoh said I must come help."

Aunt Lihle: "Did you see the time? We are about to dish up now which means siqedile." I chew on my lower lip nervously.

Me: "I'm sorry."

Mom: "And where did you go noSqalo?" I frown confused.

Me: "When?"

Mom: "Earlier."

Me: "I was sleeping, I'm only waking up now."

Aunt Lihle: "Waking up now?! Umithi yini Swelihle?"

Me: "Cha Aunty."

Mom: "Where are your brothers?"

Me: "Bhuti Fana was in the kitchen just now and uBhuti Sqalo angimazi."

Sqalo: "Here I am. Where's my card Swe?!"

Me: "Mhh?" I frown confused. Mom is silently watching us with her eyes squinted. Bhuti pulls me into the house.

Sqalo: "Listen, mom and aunt Lihle sent Xoli earlier to go call you and i stopped her since I know you haven't been okay. I wanted you to come out at your own time when you're ready, so I told her to lie and say I went out with you."

Me: "Ohhh? why?"

Sqalo: "I was helping you nje. By the way, your little boyfriend is parked up the street." he says then leaves me standing on the same spot with my eye widened in shock.
