When you arrive at Hogwarts, your dorm has a desk. You are allowed to do whatever you want with said desk, and Carla being herself, turned her desk into a bright vanity, which is filled to the brim with her favorite muggle products. She is not short on colorful eyeshadow and sparkly lipsticks.

That is where Kali sat, the bright lights almost blinding her and Carla rushing around her making her dizzy. "Why can't you just tell me where he's taking me?" She whined, sick of being in the dark.

"Not to be obvious, but it would ruin the surprise." Carla said, her fingers poking Kali's lips to apply some balm. "And I fear that Blaise would kill me."

"It isn't like you to be scared of a man." Kali deadpanned, hoping that her words would coerce her best friend into spilling a hint.

This made Carla laugh, her head thrown back and her stomach hurting. "Nice try, but no."

Kali huffed but stayed silent. She was already wearing the outfit Carla gave her. A cute white sundress and a yellow bathing suit underneath. It confused her since Hogwarts didn't have a pool and Kali didn't know how to swim.

Her mum raised her alone and they never got around to swimming lessons. It isn't something wizards need to know, so she never learned. Carla's dad tried millions of times to show her how to at least float, yet it never stuck. Eventually, she got too old and used enchantments to keep her afloat. Nothing a little magic can't fix.

Pulling away, Carla beamed. "All done." She moved out of the way so Kali could see herself in the mirror.

Kali met her eyes in the mirror, her first glance at the pink shimmer that was on her lips. Her makeup was natural, barely there, but it made her glow in a way that looked magical. Her hair was her usual puffy hair, which Carla insisted she leave natural for reasons that she couldn't disclose.

"I love it." Kali smiled, her smile lighting up her face and giving her an even brighter glow. "Thank you."

Carla just admired her work, which was truly wonderful. She always had been creative. "That's what I'm here for." She looked at the clock on her bedside table. "Blaise should be here in a minute."

The time crunch made the reality don on her. She turned to Carla with a worried expression. "I'm nervous."

"Why?" She replied. The question was truly ridiculous since it was obvious Blaise was in love with her. There was no way to mess this up.

"What if he doesn't like me?" Kali cringed at the thought, but it was a possibility.

Carla laughed a little, but toned it down because Kali did really look petrified. "Trust me, he is just as excited and nervous as you, so he'll probably mess up before you." Then she added something else. "If he doesn't like you, I'll kill him."

That lightened the mood, so Kali nodded, a giggle on her lips. She glanced at herself in the mirror and someone knocked on the door. Sighing, she stood up, giving Carla a hug before opening the door.

Blaise looked charming, as always. A black short-sleeved button down and some black swimming shorts adorning his body. He held a bouquet of wildflowers, her favorite. He had a smile on his face, but he looked anxious.

"You look beautiful." He spoke, a confident tone in his voice. Handing her the flowers, he waits outside, pulling out all of his gentlemanly traits.

Kali thanked him and handed the flowers to Carla, who pushed her out of the dorm. "Don't do anything I would do. Bye." She slammed the door, leaving the couple outside.

They smiled at her weirdness, and that was enough to break the ice. He leaned down, placing a soft kiss on Kali's cheek. She blushed, like always, and looked away. Then, she decided to be bold, and grabbed his hand, which he gladly took.
