A few hours after the iota left the door opened again and I heard a familiar voice. “Here, I have a drink and some food for you.” I recognized Hem’Lar, with his formal attire. I sat up slowly.

Food!

I took the plate from him and ate quickly. It was the same thing I had eaten before. The food never tasted so good.

Hem’Lar's soft voice split through the noise of my messy eating. “When you are done, we will need to head out.”
I halted my eating, looking wistfully and my plate, there was only one bite left. I should have eaten like a sloth…

Slower than I had ever eaten before, I brought that last bite to my mouth. And as if I was chewing cud, I chopped on it. I set the plate aside and stood up. Yet, I did not move.

Hem’Lar placed his hand on my shoulder. I flinched and turned to look at him. It was hard to imagine him as some nasty werewolf. When pressed, I began walking,

“Kek'Eeta,”

I mentally cringed, the sound of a werewolf saying my name still bit me. “You have no worries for right now. The board just want to ask a few questions concerning your trespassing."

We walked out of the cell, my weak legs were quivering under my weight. Aside from the lack of food I also did very little walking in the cell. The hallway was long and it was doubtful whether I had the stamina to travel it.

To my surprise, Hem'Lar opened the first door we came upon.

“Let’s get you a chair.” I let out a quiet breath of relief, a chair sounded heavenly. Hem’Lar guided me to a large conference room. I visually took in the room. Wow, this place is fancy compared to the cell next door. Plus these are the fanciest conference chairs I've ever seen. What are they? Mahogany?

A warm rush from the heating vents tickled me. I carefully walked over to a chair and sat down. I wanted to brush my hand on top of the leather overstuffed with who knows what. I also wanted to let out a breath of release so that I could relax but none of that happened, Hem'Lar was standing right there… looking straight at me.

Awkward

I looked away, looking at other things. I noticed there were Two platforms, I was set at a small table on the lower platform with Eta stationed behind me. The higher platform had a long narrow table with 8 chairs (more grand than mine) facing me.

With the eight chairs set the way they were, it reminded me of the squad that killed the recruits. I shivered.

There was a knock on the door. Hem’Lar went to the door and opened it. He only had it open a few inches so I could not see who was beyond it. I could hear a man talking

“The Alpha is on his way. He will soon want the human ready.” I have a name! You guys know it so why not use it? Well… you somewhat know it.

Hem’Lar nodded,  “Thank you Omicron(messenger), She’s all set.”

With emotions downcast I sighed. What's going to happen to me?

As if he read my thoughts, Hem'Lar approached me and squatted. “Don't be scared, I am not going to hurt you.” His expression had enough compassion to fill a Mac truck. My emotions dodged the oncoming truck. There was too much uncertainty involved to get hit by it. I clasped my hands and began to wring them. It’s not so much you I am worried about. I know that all the horrible stories I grew up with didn't come from nowhere.

The door opened. I gasped and braced myself. Instead of a large hungry wolf, in came six blue onesie guards. I forced myself to take a breath but that did nothing to calm the haywire nerves.
