Lins and I laid flat on the freshly hewn grass and lazily admired the cumulus clouds. I spotted one that looked like a squirrel and pointed it out to Lins.  Her half-hearted acknowledgment told me she was done with this activity. So I simply closed my eyes and contented myself with the idea of a nap. Yet, I frowned when a shadow covered my face. Opening one eye I discovered Wey’Don standing over me.

I closed my eye and turned my head away. “Nope, not going to do it. There is nothing you can say that will convince me to turn around and do more push-ups.”

Wey’Don laughed a jolly laugh. I gave him a sideways look as he chortled. I was glad he was here, nonetheless. After having gone a couple days without seeing Ty'Mee, Hem'Lar or anyone else I was familiar with besides Duo’Lae, Wey’Don's grown-up face was welcomed. As lengthy as the meeting was, I was beginning to wonder if it would ever end.

Wey’Don put his fist to his side. “No worries, Vae'Lee. There will be no training until after the full moon. And if you are nice to me until then then I will be easy on you.”

I sat up, “Even if I was nice to you I doubt you'd be easy on me.”

Wey’Don shrugged, “You don't trust me? I'm offended. But I guess that it all depends on your presuppositions. I cannot control that.”

“Perhaps so, but presuppositions are often derived from experiences. You are still responsible for my lack of trust in your bargaining for easy training.”

Wey’Don had another jolly laugh, and I smiled with humor. The wolfblood sat down with us. “So, what are we doing?”
By now Lins was sitting up and looking at the newcomer. I waved a hand to the sky. “We are studying the clouds.”

Wey’Don looked unimpressed. “You serious?”

I shrugged, “What else are we supposed to do? These days we have found ourselves completely useless.”

Lins joined the conversation. “Yea! We tried to help in the training area but the guy shooed us out, and then we went to the garden and the lady told us to leave-”

“She was very polite but yes, we were kindly asked to go away.” I interjected.

Lins continue. “Then I was playing with Duo’Lae but her grandma took her to clean her room and I haven't seen her since!”

I turned to Wey’Don, “With it being a full moon tonight I figured that today we'd take it easy and lay low.”

Wey’Don scoffed, “Lay low? Today is the best day for certain activities!”

Seeing the mischievous look in Wey’Don's eyes I knew he was up to no good but Lins was not familiar with this he-wolf and was sucked into the happy energy he gave out. Her eyes were bright and she leaned forward. “What do you mean?”

Wey’Don leaned forward and whispered unnecessarily. There was no one around, yet I could see he was successfully building up anticipation in Lins. “Have you ever heard of a prank?”

I turned my head sharply, my experiences told me that the day of the full moon was the absolutely worst time for pranks. I was still obligated to protect my sister and I did not want any angry wolfbloods going after her. “Nooo… Wey’Don.” I warned him.

Wey’Don grinned with light-heartedness. “Come-on. We will do just one and I have the perfect victim.” He rubbed his hands with glee.

Lins was completely sold. “Please Kejy, pretty please?”

“I do not want anyone murdering us in our beds tonight.” I said decidedly.

“Pshaw.” Wey’Don waved his hands. “It's only my brother, if anything, when I go to bed I will find snakes. Possibly a porcupine.”
