Whoap! Whoap! Whoap!

“Alpha M’est’r has commissioned death by slashing for the human.”

Obsidian stopped suddenly, turned, and noted the Eta standing next to him. His deep distraction had prevented him from sensing the guard coming. He blinked to clear his head and acknowledge the he-wolf before responding, “Okay, does he wish to be present?”

“He will not be able to this time. He requested that you oversee the matter for him.”

Obsidian nodded but pressed his lips together. He was disappointed it came to this. “We will initiate when the storm passes. You are dismissed.”

The Eta saluted and sauntered away while Obsidian turned back to the punching bag he was beating to a pulp. After wiping himself down he donned a shirt and drank some water. The walk to the window was only a handful of steps and Obsidian gazed out of the barracks. The compound was overly dusty and dry. There desperately needed to be good rain which seemed to be incoming. The clouds that hovered over the sky all day foretold of a storm. With the strong winds blowing east at present he knew that the packhouse was probably just getting their first drops. Thunder rumbled and Obsidian took that point to get some things done before they were in the throws of the storm.

He quickly exited the main barracks and made his way to the interrogation hall. Upon entering he immediately scented the human. With it being over a month with no success other than what Kejyta had gotten out of him it was timely to conclude that the boy -Aborigento- was done.

Kejyta.

The thought of the other human nearly made his head swim. He tightly gripped a door handle. He would not think about her, he would not. He would conquer this, he would. Obsidian closed his eyes. Easier said than done.

Once he deemed that he gathered enough of his composer he let go of the doorknob but only to discover that he'd crinkled it like paper.

With a slightly frustrated growl he pushed himself through the door. He did not claim increased strength but finding out that he was mated… and not just mated but mated to a human had definitely gotten his blood pumping.

His whole adult existence he believed and contented himself with being mateless. Such an odd predicament to find himself in. Such a rare idea, yet he had found himself to be the only mateless wolfblood in the Black Axis Pack. He did know of two that had been in the MoonDust Pack and then a whooping three in CircleMoon Pack. Other packs he was uncertain if any at all existed. Nonetheless, he was grateful that his standing in the pack was unaffected by the “lack of blessing from the moon goddess”.

Matelessness was certainly not praised, often demotion or ostracization was a follow up. Some packs even banished those who were so unfortunate as to receive the title. Obsidian faced no such consequence. Some indicated that his close relationship with the Alpha had a part in the favor he still received from his packmates. Although there was no blood relation, the two were sworn brothers.

Needless to say, Obsidian was beyond shocked when seeing the human after her attack had stirred up a forbidden and supposedly impossible bond.
The need to protect her, provide for her was overwel-

Obsidian took a deep breath. He would not think about it, he would not.

“Hey nie!” An Eta was exiting the interrogation room and spotted him.
Obsidian nodded and walked over. He could tell by the scents that clung to him that he had just been with the boy-human. “How was the session?”

“It was the same… any chance we can get the girl-human to have another session with him once she's back?” The Eta asked dubiously.

Obsidian shook his head, not just because the thought of using Kejyta as a commodity irked him but of the recent command he just received. “Alpha M’est’r just gave the order.”
