Brainstorming

I stepped out into the sun after leaving the main packhouse. On the verge of hyperventilation, I place a hand on my forehead. What did I just do? What did I just agree to??? I can’t marry a wolfblood! One week! I only have one week to think of something else. Gummy scrunchies, this is bad. This is bad bad. I need to talk to Ty’Mee right now!

I looked around for the nearest wolfblood.

“Do you need help with something?” A sultry voice asked.

I turned, and my throat constricted when I saw Kun’Zim walking toward me. “I- uh- no. I don't.”

He raised a mischievous eyebrow. “You look as if you need a hand. I'm more than happy to assist.”

He gestured to himself as if there was something to gloat or oggle about his form. I frowned, further disgusted. I need to get away.

“I must go.” Was all I said before I turned and quickly sauntered toward the nearest she-wolf I saw. She was walking nearby as if she were heading for the main packhouse. Ironically, she looked like the same one that I asked where the library was. “Excuse me, nor. I need to urgently find Theta Ty’Mee. Do you know where I might find her?”

“If she is not with you, then it's always a safe bet to look in the medical hallway in the central packhouse.”

I smiled, “Thanks! Sorry, I never introduced myself. I'm Vae'Lee.”

The she-wolf chuckled. “I know who you are. You're acquainted with my mate; Eta Woo'Min, but you can call me Kia’Ry.”

My smile grew, glad to hear of a familiar wolfblood. “I'll probably see you around then. Thanks again.”

I checked over my shoulder to make sure Kun’Zim was not around anymore before I rushed from Kia'Ry and ran into the central Packhouse. I assumed the medical hallway was the same area where I was taken after being brought back from the border with Lins. If I could just remember what hallways to take. It took two wrong turns before I found the familiar medical space. A medical Omega told me which room I could find the Theta, and I opened the door without knocking. Ty’Mee was at a table with a dropper and a vial. Her concentration was sharp on watching the liquid in the vial. She saw me barge in and quickly set down her dropper.

“Vae’Lee! Uh, hi.” She looked uncomfortable with my presence. “What are you doing here?”

I walked up to her, “I need your help, please?”’

“Oh.” She set the vial down. “Did you talk with Alpha M’est’r?”

I nodded.

Ty’Mee reached out to me, “I’m sorry, I tried to advise against it and I-”

“I’m not mad at you Ty’Mee, A little hurt, but I completely understand that you must do what is best for the pack."

“You’ll forgive me?”

“Of course, like I said, I understand.”
Ty’Mee smiled and hugged me. “I’m so very relieved, I was certain that you would want to do nothing with me and that I’d lost you as a friend forever. I knew that this was not what you wanted, and if there was any other way, I am sure I would have taken it. But it does make me quite relieved we are on good terms still. In the meeting, we talked over so many ideas and-”

“I know that you know all about it, if not more.” I interrupted her. “But Alpha M’est’r said he’ll give me one week to come up with something else that does not include marrying a wolfblood, and I need your help with brainstorming.”

“Wait… " Ty'Mee held out her hand. "so you are not getting mated in two days?”

“No, and he wouldn't tell me who it was. Have you any idea?”
