Bringing his hind paws underneath him he placed them firmly into the dirt of Wos’Theon ground. With an effortless heave he pushed himself, spreading his front paws forward leaping over more grass than he touched. He practically was flying.

Hem’Lar was bounding speedily and in sync with his Alpha, an Eta, and Próta Epsilon Ty’Bin. Their paws hit the earth floor in perfect rhythm. The four of them matched speed as they neared the border of Alpha G’por’r's pack.

Zeta Hem’Lar was upset that it took this, that it took finding out about him. To finally gain access to the border. Of course, Alpha M’est’r making the request himself was almost guaranteed a grant. Even though the title was not official he practically was the Alpha of Alphas, no pack or its member therein dared to challenge him.

In addition, Hem'Lar didn't know how he did it. His Alpha never broke his cool. Even after hearing the cursed name. Heck, he didn't even appear surprised. After Hem’Lar had explained to him how he'd come across the historical Wos’Theon leader, Alpha M’est’r simply nodded and said, “I think it's time I see that human again.”

That was it, no gasp, no sparks of anger in his eye, no shock in his voice. Hem’Lar understood that as Alpha, the wolfblood knew things that others did not. His calm assertiveness is what made him a pack leader after all. His strength was just a bonus.

Part of that strength allowed him to run all the way to the Moon Dust Pack without taking a break. It was in the wee hours of the morning and they were making good time. No doubt in a few hours they would reach the border line. And members of that pack should be there waiting for them. So that they may be escorted to the presence of Alpha G’por’r himself.

The foursome traveled to the borderline within three hours. Sure as expected, there was the MoonDust Beta with a handful of Etas waiting for them. The Beta was a large crusty grey wolf but his size could not be matched with Alpha  M’est’r’s black and brown being. While the pack did acknowledge the Alpha’s authority, little to no words were exchanged as they trotted deeper into foreign territory.

Despite advancing at a slower pace Hem’Lar felt the time seemed to speed. He hid his nervousness well. Wondering what Kek'Eeta had to say about the “beau” with the codename of a very deadly wolf-blood. Nonetheless, she would have to accept the business of this meeting and tamper any disappointment that he would wield no sweet potato or caramel ice cream.

The sweet songs of the morning birds sang a welcoming tune. The late sun of the winter sky peaked its rays over the tree line. Hem’Lar could already feel the warmth from it. He knew that today was going to be a warmer day than the normal trajectory of temperatures predicted.

As the smells of the pack grew stronger, indicating their closeness, Hem'Lar took a steadying breath. He was ready for answers.

Soon enough they reached the sight of the pebblestone wall that marked the dominion of the MoonDust Packhouse. Hem’Lar turned his head to the side. In the distance he could hear the farm animals bicker and snort, the little white building could not be spotted from this distance but he already smelt the difference. His last visit here, he could smell the putridness of the rancid and neglected garbage. Now, he could only detect the normalcy of nature with simply a twinge of horse manure and wolf sweat, namely his own. The little girl was doing her job well and it was evident.

The front gate opened and out walked the Alpha and another hoard of Etas, all in their human forms. With a curt nod from Alpha M’est’r as a signal the four began their shift to humanness  The bundles that they had strapped to their backs began to unfold and envelope them. Clothing them as their skin seemed to absorb their fur.

In a smooth action Hem’Lar stood up and stood strong and ready behind his Alpha. Ready for his command knowing it would come soon.

Alpha G’por’r turned his head to his Etas, “Retrieve the human.”
