I couldn't believe it. After a whole year of agony I was finally going to go home! Tomorrow! I wanted so badly to get up and dance a jig.
"The full moon is in the next few days, you have until the full moon after that to come back." M'est'r charged. "If you are not back by then you will be treated as a traitor and killed on sight. You are to find out what you can about Jon'Rvet and report your findings.
Zeta Hem'Lar will prepare for your trip. This session is dismissed."
The Alpha stood up and he left with the Delta in tow.
As awkward as it was, I found myself with only the water Eta and Ty'Bin in the room. That, however, did not tint my elated happiness.
Finally, finally, FINALLY!!! YES!
The buzz thrummed in my veins making my ears ring and my skin prickle.
Beards and bumblebees, I need to calm myself down. I need to physically and mentally prepare myself.
After taking a few deep breaths that seemed to not help at all I closed my eyes until the buzz mostly subsided.
When Hem'Lar walked into the room Próta Epsilon Ty'Bin related to him everything that the Alpha said. "And Zeta Hem'Lar," He also added.., "Get her to see Theta Mee right away. She looks like she has been hit by a semi."
"Right away, Próta."
Wait... what? My hands went to my face. I felt the dry crusted blood and remembered that I had never washed up after the bloody nose. My cheeks heated up in embarrassment. All this time I was here looking like a doofus and trying to act like a duchess at the same time. What a clown I must have seemed like.
Hem'Lar escorted me back to the packhouses. I was so surprised when we did not go to the one I was staying at but rather the one in the middle.
With a gentle hand on my upper arm he led me through the large, double, front doors. My chest swelled up with a gasp when I stepped in. Tall ceilings, huge foyer, and wolfbloods everywhere. To the right was a large dining area and straight ahead was a hallway. To the left was a few doors and another hallway. A few columns stood in the foyer.
I recognize this place.
"Hem'Lar, is this where I was first taken after the prison, when I sprained my ankle?"
"Close, you were taken to the other packhouse. All three packhouses mirror each other and have names to distinguish them. The main, central and au courant packhouse. The one you were taken at is the newest one built, the au courant packhouse. That is also the one you are staying at now. It is still pretty much empty. This here is the central pachhouse."
"Oh! That makes so much sense!"
I took in my surroundings again. The cafeteria was bustling with people. I could see now that the colors were different. Where I played "run from the humans!" with Duo'Lae was green walls and brown carpet, here the walls were blue and the floor was a darker grey.
Hem'Lar never let go of my arm and for that I was glad. The stares that I was receiving from the wolfbloods told me that if Hem'Lar was not protecting me right now, I would be their evening snack, figuratively. We passed by a pillar in the foyer and I saw a starkly kind of character staring at me with his intense green eyes. His odd smile brought me chills. He shifted his gaze to Hem'Lar, "My bud! Want me to babysit this little thing for you? I can take her off your hands."
I shrunk into Hem'Lar in horror at being left in the company of this he-wolf. The Zeta got in between us and literally barked at the unsavory male. "Don't mess with Alpha M'est'r's operative. You know better"
