(During the meeting, before the Ceremony)
“Can you be sure that she was telling the truth, Alpha?” Ty'Bin recognized the voice of the Delta. The board member that smelled one cup of too much coffee. In a bit Ty'Bin assumed they would all smell like that.
He looked up, the Delta looked concerned, his question had been genuine but It made Ty'Bin frowned and a hint of anger could be detected from his Beta. Ty'Bin agreed, it was a dumb question that questioned the Alpha's ability.
“Yes.” The Alpha chose not to take offence.
“But, the scent of fear on her was copious.”
The scent of Beta's anger only grew. Ty'Bin merely blinked, this young he-wolf had a lot more training to do before he could take office. Specifically with controlling his emotions.
“Fear does not conclude dishonesty. She is human and scared of her predicament. Nonetheless, her words were honest.” Alpha M’est’r showed patience to the doubting wolfbloods.
“We need to do something though, the amount of disrespect she showed is enough to damn someone. Enough to even banish them, why are we overlooking this?” Beta made his voice heard.
“The girl is human and not fully aware of our customs. I pardon her mistakes because with the matter at hand it is not worthwhile to fuss.” Alpha M’est’r shifted in his seat. “Let's move from her to the words she said. That was the reason for this meeting… scribe, read her words.”
Ty'Bin was grateful for the Alpha in dismissing the charge. If he had to lay a verdict he would be far too partial.
The Omega at the far end of the table nodded, “Yes, nie.”
She flipped through the papers. “First statement. ‘Bratir was sent by Joinervetti to the training base. There is a watermark behind the address of the sender. That same symbol was found on his dog tag’ end statement, shall I continue?”
Shaking his head the Alpha responded, “No. We already assumed as much but this does confirm it. We do not know how far back this has been occurring. Obviously the initial trespasses have not been his doing. But I do not think the human, Vae'Lee, was his first.”
“Are we still sending trespassers to other packs?” Ty'Mee, who was sitting next to her brother, asked.
Beta took the initiative to answer, “No, that was halted after the human's attack.”
Ty'Bin's fingers twitched, he had to stifle his anger every time someone referred to Vae'Lee as if she was a commodity, an asset. He contained it enough so it was not as obvious as Beta's. The momentary eye contact from Alpha M’est’r told Ty'Bin the twitching had not gone unnoticed.
“Any way we can retrieve the humans that were sent?” Ty’Mee pushed, “It would stop the rogues from gathering confidential information.”
“No, those humans were part of an extensive peace and ally treaty. Pulling them would be breaching the treaty in more ways than one. And a rift with other packs is not something we can afford right now. The Omicron (messenger) has already distributed warnings of increased rogue activities to encourage those packs to keep their borders tighter.”
Ty’Mee remained silent, the Beta's answer was satisfactory enough for her.
“What's next, scribe?” Alpha turned his head.
“Joinervetti made himself Prime Minister of Vakusi.”
A Delta shook her head, “I don't understand how the Vakusians can let a wolfblood get into such a powerful position.”
