I stood in front of the metal shelves that was in my quarters. Inspecting every collected item and pondered what else I would need. My plan formulated and the excitement of it had me nibbling my lip. If only I could get that last few essential items I could escape in a matter of weeks.
My plan was basic:
-Travel to the Northside creek and down stream hide my bag, clothes, shoes, travelable food, maps and my water bottle.
-Wait a few days to let my scent disperse then when came time I would take a block of ice from the kitchen freezer (one of my own making) drive my cart to the bridge, strip my rancid clothes, socks and shoes, toss them in the cart.
-Strategically place the ice block on the gas pedal and let it travel to who knows where with all my scent in it.
-I would then bathe in the stream.
-Next, travel down to where my items were and place on the new clothes and shoes that had no scent.
-Afterwards, I had my maps to lead me out of this cursed place.
My plan had to work… it just had too. If only I could find some soap and clothes, that was all I was missing.
A smile toyed with my emotions. Waking up this morning from a blissful night of sleep gave me renewed energy to invest in my mission. As shocking as it was to me, waking up nearly at 11am, I understood that my brain needed the time to just shut down.
Speaking of… I tried to recall what happened the day before. I remembered that the black wolf- Obsidian -was leading me home but after that I failed to recall anything other than waking up in my bed still in my jumpsuit with the key to my chambers on the nightstand.
Biting the inside of my mouth I walked up the steps and opened the door. It was unlocked yet I had been safe all night. I looked at the mid-day sky and knew that today was going to be a good day.
Walking with a still happiness I made my way to the port where I expected to find the golf-cart. I spotted that same bouncy red-head Omicron sauntering out of the building. Even though I was perplexed at this wolfblood and his visiting two days in a row I did not want to stay for his shifting.
Ducking behind the wall of the port I waited until I deemed it safe. I was pulling out of the port when my unwelcomed name got called.
“Human!!”
I did not mind the name so much; it was the speaker of such a name and the obvious anger that coated it. Mes’Mu was storming toward me. And boy did she look mad.
Stepping out of the cart I lowered my head as she approached, one hand over the wounded side of my face. It was the only protection I could offer it.
“You are just begging for trouble aren't you?”
I frowned, unsure what I had done now. Perhaps I slept in too much? OH! wait, I forgot to badge in, that must be why she's upset.
“You are NOT allowed romantic relationships with anyone!”
I recoiled, romantic? What the blue shoes is she talking about?
Mes’Mu waved an envelope in my face. “You are a vile human being. You will taint the precious blood of the wolves with your fornication! You will cease all communications with this person and for a month you will no longer have any evening food rations! Am I clear!?”
I froze as she berated me with her angry spitting. “Yes, nor.”
The she-wolf tore the letter a couple times before throwing the pieces at me. Some of the papers caught the wind and flitted away while the rest simply fluttered to the ground.
She pressed her face closer to mind. “I've got my eye on you twit, if I see you mingle with anyone in a friendly manner… I will personally wring your head off with my own fingers.” She turned and sauntered back whence she came.
