Marinette's POV:

As I got ready for bed, I was in awe. Tonight was nice. I enjoyed spending time with Luka, who surprised me by showing up while I was teaching a violin lesson. At least, after the young student went home, we were alone. I invited him for supper, and he stayed. We talked until we grew tired, and he went home.

I look forward to seeing him again tomorrow night. I had told anyone I was going to dinner and a concert with him. Not a single soul. I did not want anyone else to get their hopes up. Besides, we barely knew each other.  I smiled as I hung the completed dress on a hanger. There now it is all ready for tomorrow. Plus,  I can wear it to Juleka's wedding when she and Ethan, her boyfriend of two years- get married.

The next day, I cleaned up a bit around the place. The bakery was closed today, so it was my day off. Now that I owned the place, I could give myself whatever day off, I needed. I had not told anyone yet, but last week, I officially paid off the last of the mortgage.  After I cleaned,  I took a nap, showered, changed clothes, and ate a late lunch. I had skipped breakfast so my stomach growled in protest.  After lunch, I played the violin. It was a nice instrument. I liked the soft sounds it had.  Then, I went outside and sketched some. It was the best light since it wasn't too bright or dark either.

Once I finished, I went inside to prepare for my date. I was ready thirty minutes early. I was nervous. What if he changed his mind or was sick and could not make it?  I paced the floor for a few minutes and decided to read a book to keep a load off my mind. As I read, I let myself imagine myself in the shoes- of the main character- Belle.  I was at the scene where she had just entered the castle and heard someone talking. She had discovered the candlestick and an old-fashioned clock had spoken.  The girl was not frightened.  Well, "Belle, you are much too trusting you know."    I shook my head as she walked upstairs.  I read that she found her father. How nice, I thought.  To my horror, Belle heard a voice behind her and knew she was in trouble but she was brave. "Step into the light," Belle said. I  screamed when the best approached her. I did not know what that part freaked me out, but it did.

I heard someone knock on the door. "Marinette, are you alright? I thought I heard someone scream,"  I heard someone say.  "I will be right there, Luka," I called out. I opened the door to see a confused delivery boy holding flowers. "I am not Luka, I am Chad, but Luka Cuffaine did tell me to deliver these roses to the young damsel, Marinette."  The guy said. I smiled as I took the bouquet from him. "Thanks," I answered. "No need to thank me Miss, just doing my job." He backed away flashing me a smile as he left.

I put them in a vase of water. I could not help but wonder what Belle's fate would be now that she had seen the beast.  I picked up the book. "So, what brings you here?" The beast growled.  I read more and found out the girl takes her father's place. I felt my heart shudder. Why would she do such a thing?  The beast seemed surprised.  I  almost fell asleep when I heard the bell ring. I stood up and answered the door. "Hi," I said. "Hi, Marinette," Luka said.  "I am glad you are here," I blurted out. Luka grinned. He grabbed my purse, and we headed out the door.  He waited for me to lock it before we left.

I was surprised when we arrived at the restaurant. It was fancier than I imagined. I sat at the table across from him once the waiter seated us.  I ordered a taco. Luka ordered two tacos and a Burrito. Goodness, he had a hearty appetite.  We talked a bit while waiting for the food. "I hear you were ditched on your wedding day," I said. Luka looked stunned. "Yes, Jessica did not show up, but that was years ago. I rather not dwell on the past," he said.  I felt bad for saying anything about it. "Okay, as long as you don't mind that I have not dated in two years," I replied. "Ha, you are joking, right?" He spoke up. "No, I am serious. The other dates did not go so well. The boys stood me up. One had the decency to call at least, but the other did not." I explained. "Oh, that stinks," He said. We discussed how we felt about pets, children, movies, music, etc.
