Author's Note: Apologies for this being posted so long after Valentine's, I've been pretty busy over the past couple days and just haven't had writing on my mind. However, I promised that I would do a story for Valentine's so that is exactly what I'm doing. Hope you enjoy :))
~CONTEXT~
Love had always been something you craved, something you deeply yearned for. Your parents had been incredibly loving towards one another: holding hands everywhere, showing affection to one another both in front of you and when you weren't around, having affectionate nicknames for one another and very rarely getting into fights or arguments. Seeing them and how amazing their marriage was, you always knew that you wanted the same - and it didn't matter how long it took you, you were going to get it. However, it would take a while before you were granted your biggest wish.
During your child years, the boys you went to school with never liked you. They would pick on you, make fun of you, call you a teachers pet for being smart and doing well in class and would overall just be horrid. You didn't really mind much, as your girl friends always defended you and were incredibly close to you - that and your parents always went into school to get the issue sorted out without a second thought, which was another reason they were the worlds greatest parents. Moving on to high school you believed this would change, and in a way it did, but not the way you expected. You pretty much received no male attention in high school, be that positive or negative. They weren't horrid to you, they didn't bully you, they didn't befriend you and none of them had crushes on you. To you, this was worse than the way boys treated you in younger school, and you absolutely hated it. Seeing all of your friends get boyfriends and experience teen love while you didn't get any of that felt awful, and you spent most nights in high school crying yourself to sleep over it.
When you finally left high school, you were more relieved than anything. You would no longer have to put up with seeing your friends with their boyfriends all the time and you could escape the lack of male attention. Despite this pain, life would eventually hand you what you wanted - and it would be better than you could ever imagine.
Before going to college, you decided to take a gap year where you got a job and earned yourself some money, just for the work experience (and it was also nice to have your own money and not rely on your parents). You had always had a passion for books and reading, so you decided to get a job working as a librarian. It wasn't anything special or exciting, but it suited you and you enjoyed it, which was the most important thing to you. 5 months into your job, you were sat at your desk, doing something pointless as you didn't have any particular work tasks to be doing, when you heard the deep voice of a man. When you looked up, you were greeted by an unexpected face - Austin. Even just looking at him caught you off guard, your breath catching in your throat; you hadn't expected a celebrity to come into your library, especially him, but it's not like you're going to discourage it. After getting over the initial shock, you managed to ask him what he wanted and what he needed assistance for, and what he said took you by surprise - he wanted to take you on a date, and needed to know if you were available. After spending all your life literally receiving no romantic attention from men, you believed he was joking and didn't think he was genuinely interested, but after he spent 5 minutes swearing that he was being serious - you took him up on his offer. And that was the moment you finally got your biggest desire.
It only took 3 weeks after you two went out for him to ask you to be his girlfriend - and obviously you said yes. From then on, life was amazing. Your relationship was heavenly; going on dates every 2 weeks, spending time off work with one another, meeting each other's family and friends, going on holidays together and eventually moving in with one another. Being with Austin was everything you've ever dreamed of and asked for, and life couldn't be any better...
