Avadis flew back into her room and practically ran over the outline of a person standing on her balcony. She twisted her body so violently to avoid them that she ended up landing quite painfully on the edge of the doorway.

"OOF!" She groaned, feeling every limb in her body to make sure she was completely intact before turning around to lecture the stranger on her balcony.

"Just where have been to flying off like that? I thought you'd left for good! All your bags are gone and..."

"Legolas what in the world" Avadis sighed with her arms across her chest, "breathe a moment, it seems I have just knocked the sense out of you or something."

He frowned and copied her stance, "Avadis, we needed you there tonight and you snuck away before the meals had even started!" He was obviously upset, and Avadis decided that she would spare him the teasing for tonight at least.

"I am sorry Legolas, I just needed to be elsewhere tonight. I was sure no one was really going to miss me but apparently I was wrong." She gestured inside to the small couches in the corner. "Come and sit a while with me then, we can at least share a drink of tea together."

Legolas physically seemed to relax at the mention of having a tea together and made his way inside at her request. "I can assure you that you were greatly missed, I had so many people come and ask me where you were I decided to retire early and find you myself to solve the mystery."

Avadis laughed and poured water into the small teapot which then hung over the fire. From her pocket, she took out the collection of leaves she had gathered along with more collections of plants from a container in the drawer and carefully placed them in a small tea sieve, dropping it into the teapot and leaving it over the fire to come and sit next oppposite Legolas.

"I do enjoy being a bit of a mystery sometimes" She smiled at him and relaxed into the couch with a sigh.

"I've noticed" he returned the smile, "now you still haven't answered my question, where exactly were you?"

Avadis paused a moment before quietly replying, "I went home. To tell them about uh, well y'know..."

His face fell as he understood what it was she had done and the room was automatically thrown to an awkard silence, the pair seemingly drawn back suddenly to reality. "Ah" he replied awkwardly, shifting several times in his seat. "Did you see uh..." He struggled to remember the name, something which raised alarm bells in Avadis' head. He was an elf, he was not supposed to forget anything.

"Treebeard? Yeah, I saw him. He is doing well I think, a bit slower and sadder than usual but I suppose you would be given the current uh... times." Avadis frowned out of embarrasment at her words, regretting everything she had said so far this conversation for a reason she could not quite understand. Since when had it become awkward to talk with him? Perhaps she was more tired than she thought. Yes, that must be it.

It seemed that Legolas was having a similar experience, he fidgeted with his hands in his lap. "That is good to hear."

Avadis nodded and opened her mouth to try and think of something to say, but found that there was nothing, so instead she mumbled something to herself and quickly got up to check on the tea, throwing awkard side glances over to Legolas who's eyes darted quickly between her and his hands. Staring into the fire, she tried to pull herself together, stiring the tea around a couple times with a small spoon before taking it over to the table and gently pouring it out into two small cups and sitting back down silently.

Legolas smiled and lifted the cup to his lip, gently blowing away the steam. "I see you have everything set out for tomorrow over there?" He nudged his head in the direction of her weapons which lay sharpened and polished in a pile near the doorway. He took a sip, "I have to admit I am not as prepared as..." He paused as a healthy glow came over his face, "This is delicious! What is it?" He took another sip eagerly, his cheeks becoming flushed.
