I woke up to the sound of my now two month old baby girl crying next to me. I sat up and started feeding the crying girl. I looked at Gabe and then I threw my head back and looked at the ceiling and sighed. This is the sixth time she has woken up and I'm the one on Luna duty because Gabe has his hand on Leo so he can't really help. I looked around the room. There was complete darkness. I could see nothing at all.
But still like the dumb ass i was I got up and I forgot we basically threw our shoes off because we were tried after the park with our two babies. I forgot they could literally be anywhere and didn't think to be careful. When I got up and started walking to the bathroom door a tripped over my shoe. My heart dropped, I held Luna close and balanced myself. I sighed in relief and held my baby close as she started crying probably because she wasn't on my tit anymore. Yeah we gotta get a night light.
I went in the bathroom closed the door almost all the way. I didn't turn on the light because we have a window and the moonlight is giving me enough light to see. I finished my business I got her to go back to sleep and placed her back in her crib and went back to sleep.
Only for her to wake up thirty minutes later.
- next morning -
I woke up and looked to my left and saw Lui was already up. Luna was keeping my husband up all night. I chuckled at the thought. I slowly took my hand off of my baby boy. I paused for a moment to make sure he was fine and he was. I got up and went to the kitchen. I was watching the baby from my phone. Once I got to the kitchen I started to e coffeemaker and went back up stairs. Once I got to our room and started making the bed. I then picked up any shoes or Lui's shirts off up the floor and put them in their respective places.
After that Lui came in with Luna in a towel.
"Hi baby good morning!" He said kissing me quickly as he hurried to the bed to get Luna dressed.
"Morning, honey, you sure have a lot of energy for waking up seven times last night, are you going to go but in bed after?"
"Nope"
"I want you to though, give your body a break... how about today I take care of the babies? I want you to sleep and get some actual rest" I said.
"Ehh I don't know Gabe what if- what if something happens? You know I almost fell with Luna last night? I can't- I have to make it up to her"
"Lui, are you tried? I hear what you are saying and I understand what you're feeling but you look and sound tried, if you got a lot more sleep I wouldn't be so against this, I get it these are our kids and I know you love them to death but you can't take care of them if you haven't even given yourself basic human care"
"..." Lui stayed quiet as he finished dressing Luna.
"Not only that I am the other parent you can lean on me more and let me take care of them by myself..."
Lui picked up Luna and hand her to me.
"Ok, if you're really up to it" he said as he patted Luna's back.
We shared a quick kiss as Leo started crying.
"Oh my baby boy come here" Lui said while picking up our son.
"I already pumped so just heat up the milk" he continued while handing me Leo.
And the rest of the day I took care of my kids by myself.
