I woke up to Gabe kissing my shoulder up to my neck and my face.
"Mm Gabe... Gabe? Why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be at school right now"
Gabe has college classes, he's in his second year in getting a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Not like he can't already fix a machine up but because he wants to be with big companies and you need a degree for the big jobs. He's been working at a car repair shop.
"I moved to online and the only spot was in the afternoon" He said.
"I wanna be able to help you and be with you" He said.
"And what about work?" I asked.
"They're gonna allow me to go on paternity leave once the time comes, and it's the same days, same hours... it's gonna be hard I know but I'm willing to go through the hard work and if anything happens, worse comes to worse I'll stop going to college and go back in a year or two and if I really need to I'll quit my job" He said, kissing my cheek.
I cupped his face. I was about to say he doesn't have to do that for me but it's not just me he's doing it for, it's for his kid, he wants to be apart of their lives. It's not like we don't have money we have more than enough of it, It's just I know how much Gabe doesn't like not being able to provide or bring something to the table.
"So what time do you have to go on zoom?" I asked.
"From three to four thirty which isn't bad at all I'll be done before dinner time so I can enjoy it with you" He said.
"And you don't have work today?" I asked.
"Nope"
"Then let's go get some snacks!"
"By snacks you mean a whole cake, cookies, and more ice cream?" He asked.
"Yes... you gonna problem with that?"
"Never, whatever my pregnant husband wants, he gets" He said,
Then we shared a kiss.
