Follies at the Coven Day Parade

A/N: i skipped yesterdays lie because it was very Luz centric and i felt i couldn't write y/n or Jack in without it feeling forced, also i didn't want to be sad.

we open on another day in the boiling isles where Luz was recording videos to her mother to reassure her that she is fine and the isles are safe after the attempted portal door plan went awry and when things went bad when Luz spoke to Camila again, the videos were not going to plan either showing how dangerous the isles could be.

but while she was doing so something kept gnawing at the back of her head when the door was completed she offered y/n to join her but he declined immediately and went into the house after that and it caused her to have a sneaking suspicion that y/n was hiding something but that was something to think about for another time.

timeskip.

Luz was now sitting on the steps to Hexside's main door looking at the videos she recorded while Gus and Willow were discussing what Belos looked like under the mask not knowing he just looked like an old witch with long hair and large green scar over his face.

Gus: Luz, you were up close to Belos what does he look like under that mask?

Luz: i don't know i never got a close look.

Amity: i heard he was scarred by wild magic.

Dan: i think he just likes his privacy hence he doesn't take it off.

Jack: to me at least he's either scarred from some accident or he prefers the anonymity that it grants him after all hard to fight something you can't put a face to.

Willow: why would that make it harder?

Dan: think about it, the mask he wears is as much a symbol as his covens sigil if not more so it makes him seem more mystical and unknowable more like a force than a person you take the mask away and all that's left is the man underneath it, another thing that would make it harder is what if someone tries to kidnap him or kill him if Belos doesn't have a face people can recognize how would a potential kidnapper or assassin know they got him and not some body double.

Jack: that's the very reason why my dad and uncle don't storm Belos's castle and kill him themselves they would never know if they actually got him or not until an event after that fact.

Dan: and even if he had revealed his face already he would almost certainly have body doubles that look and sound exactly like him using a concealment stone and voice change potion.

Jack: yea that too, he may be a tyrannical waste of space but he's not dumb.

they then hear Owlbert and see Eda, King and y/n flying in to pick Luz and Jack up and so they hop on and and Owlbert flies off.

they are currently flying over Bonesborough

King: c'mon there's no way your mom will make you leave the demon realm.

Eda: yea when she meets us i'll be sure to put on the charm, that turns people into obedient zombies.

y/n: that is not happening.

Jack: you are not turning my girlfriends mom into a zombie.

they land in the town square and see coven scouts everywhere.

Luz: whoa what's going on?

King: their probably prepping for the annual coven day parade floats, streamers, fireworks.

Eda: it's just a fancy way to kiss the emperor's-.

Luz was holding her hands over Kings ears and giving Eda the stink eye.
