Eda's Requiem

we open on Eda who is in her and y/n's room looking over a checklist of things they need to get.

Eda: Luz needs a new coat, King needs to be checked for fleas am i missing anything?

Eda: ha you've changed Owl lady but it's worth it.

Eda opens the window and sees Luz and King doing pullups using Eda's staff as a bar while Jack helped them.

Luz: alright King what's the first thing your gonna do when you meet your dad?

King: well once were done training i'm gonna move out of that closet for one then i'm gonna ugly cry hard.

Luz: have you told Eda about your decision to lea-.

King shushes her as they heard the window close.

King: i'm not ready yet i'm not sure how she'll react.

Eda: everyone's leaving even King, i guess i'm no substitute for the real thing.

just as she was about to put the picture of her Luz, King, Jack and y/n from grom night in the chest she spots her old mandolin.

Eda: well nothing like a good distraction.

Eda starts playing a beautiful tune causing objects to float in the air all the while her black gemstone glowed.

Eda: has my magic returned?

the boot turns grey and things fall down.

Eda: guess not, stupid curse.

she doesn't notice as the plant greys up and dies.

Eda then walks out of the room and sees y/n just outside.

y/n: feeling bummed about King and Luz?

Eda: yea it's just i got so used to them hanging around and since they talk about leaving.

y/n: it's got you bummed.

Eda: yea.

y/n: i know it sucks but Luz has a mother to go home to and King might have a dad out there.

Eda: i know it just feels like i'm not needed anymore.

y/n: Eda you'll always be needed especially by our new bundles of sunshine.

Eda: yea and while he's grown Jack is still our little boy.

y/n: that he is and besides as for King i would never bring it up but his dad might-.

Eda: be dead? yea that crossed my mind too i figured we would have seen or heard about someone looking like King looking for their lost son.

y/n: and considering where we found him and what was guarding him King's father may well have been hunted and who knows what would have happened to King if we didn't get there.

Eda: scary stuff.

y/n: even more so if your a parent.

Eda: say you think we could spend some time with each other later.

y/n: sorry Eda i have some stuff to do in the workshop and some buddies of mine to talk to.

Eda just pouts.

y/n: don't worry we'll have our alone time together soon and to make up for it i'll even take care of the list.

Eda: what did i do to deserve a great man like you.

y/n just kisses her and moves to his workshop.

Eda: you've done so much for me i wish i could begin to pay you back.
