So a few days back I made a chapter talking about my thoughts on the whole situation involving Hoyoverse VAs and the whole SAG-AFTRA strike if you wanna check it out go to the table of contents and look for the chapter where I talk about it. But now within these past few days we actually got some updates on this whole situation and it's actually makes SAG-AFTRA and it's supporters look a lot worse than I imagined. If you're wondering what I mean by that well it actually starts with Erika Harlacher.

For those who don't know Erika voices a lot of characters in anime in videos, such as Jeanne d'Arc from Fate/Apocrypha, Violet Evergarden from the series or the same name, Yumeko Jabami from Kakegurui, Kurapika from Hunter x Hunter, Shinobu Kocho from Demon Slayer, Elizabeth Liones from the Seven Deadly Sins, Ann Takamaki from Persona 5, Djeeta from Granblue Fantasy, Kyrie Canaan from Final Fantasy VII, and dozens more. But in this case she also voices Venti from Genshin Impact. This is important because she's also participating with many other union VAs in this collective strike because Hoyoverse refused to sign an Interim Agreement with SAG that focuses on AI protections never mind the fact that Hoyoverse is a Chinese company and has no jurisdictions with the West and at best it's English companies that have AI protections but apparently that's not enough but whatever go on ahead and put your jobs at risk to do so, I mean we already saw the consequences of how that turned out as the English VAs for Solider 11, Lycaon, Grace, Koleda, and Rina from Zenless Zone Zero, and Kinich from Genshin all got recasted as a result of this. That's what happens when you decided to strike for like at least 9 months at this point and not work around that time, you lose your jobs so don't give us the surprised Pikachu face, you chose to not work and now you're out of a job.
But now you might be wondering is why am I bringing up Erika in this situation? What does she have anything to do with this? Well it all started a month back when she released this video of her singing shut the fuck up on TikTok. Initially people thought this was some kind of distrack because at the time of the video the beaf between fans and VAs especially Paimon's VA Corina Boettger because of how overly dramatic and problematic she is lately and I thought Erika was going to be similar. But it turns out this entire time not only did she make that song a year ago but it turns out according to a TikTok post that I found in Hero Hei's video Erika has been trying to come back bit she couldn't because SAG has been sending her threatening letters. The screenshots are right here.
