If you are someone who is familiar with Hoyoverse games you would know that one of things they are most known for is the tragic backstories when it comes to their characters and they do not hesitate to show that this is especially the case for these two characters Fu Hua and Jingliu from Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai Star Rail.

These two are some of the most tragic characters I have ever seen throughout Hoyoverse with several similarities. Both are known for their blue colors like blue hair and blue clothing, both are calm, stoic, serious, yet also caring for their friends. Both started off relatively normal until destruction came upon their worlds forced them down a path they didn't expect to follow for Fu Hua it's in the Previous Era where the Honkai first attacked and for Jingliu her homeworld, Xianzhou Cangcheng was completely destroyed Denizens of Abundance. These events caused them to develop a deep hatred towards the catastrophic phenomena and vowed to destroyed them by any means necessary. Both would train in martial arts although Jingliu is a swordswoman while Fu Hua mostly uses her fists and kicks, both would become mentors of multiple students some good some bad, but unfortunately both would suffer from immortality which leads to depression for Fu Hua it's due to being a MANTIS for 50,000 years and for Jingliu it's due to her being corrupted by Mara for 1800 years. It eventually got even worse when some of their closest friends died for Fu Hua it's after Nuwa and Fuxi died and for Jingliu it's after Baiheng died. That was ultimately the last straw and ultimately became colder and went down a dark path for Fu Hua she distanced herself from society fighting Honkai like a mechanical robot and for Jingliu she ended consumed by the Mara completely and she became a criminal and lost her mind. Both of their dark paths caused their own students to turn on them and nearly kill them for Fu Hua it was her Seven Disciples and for Jingliu it was Jing Yuan. However both ended up surviving those attempts and ended up making deals with suspiciously blonde hair characters for Fu Hua it's Otto Apocalypse and for Jingliu it's Luocha. Those are pretty much the similarities between the two however what if I told you that Jingliu is someone Fu Hua would've became if circumstances of her life were completely different? Which is why for today's discussion I'm going to be comparing Fu Hua and Jingliu and by the end of this I'm going to explain how one moment was made a difference between the two. So without further ado let's get started.
Backstory and years of fighting
Let's start with Fu Hua. Before she was a warrior being known as the Immortal Phoenix, Fu Hua was just an ordinary teenage girl living in a advanced alternate version of Earth in the Previous Era where she spends most of her time at a dojo owned by her father training. However life goes on and her father tells her to go to school and make a life for herself. Fu Hua reluctantly accepted the fact and went to school but was outcasted and bullied. That changed when she saved a girl's life from a Honkai Beast and the girl would end up becoming Fu Hua's first friend. However just as things were going better for her, the Honkai arrived on Earth and disaster followed and her city, friends, and family all died in the process leaving Fu Hua all alone, but she was eventually found by HIMEKO the Previous Era version of the Current Era. HIMEKO recruited Fu Hua to the Fire Moth one of the organizations dedicated to fighting the Honkai and became a MANTIS a Perfect Solider granted advanced Honkai abilities including regeneration and immortality that helps the person adapt and fight the Honkai. For 50,000 years Fu Hua has made many friends and comrades leading the charge against the Honkai but as we all know this would unfortunately be the tragedy of her downfall.
