For me that's cartoons hands down no questions asked.
With video games and anime it's impossible for me not to love these two genres because to this day many of them make good and interesting content most of the time.
As for comic books and live action that just depends on the scenario. I mean comics is carried by Marvel and DC if it wasn't for those two most comics would be uninteresting. And live action does have a decent amount of movies and TV shows I like to watch.
But cartoons just don't hit the same like they used to. Don't get me wrong there are many cartoons that I loved to watch as a kid: Most Disney and Dreamworks movies, Avatar Legends (Aang and Korra), Nick Jr, PBS Kids, and Disney Channel kids shows back in the 2000s to 2010s, etc but overall cartoons these days are either not my style, mid, or flat out uninteresting. I used to watch SpongeBob and Teen Titans GO! back in the day but they've fallen off so hard. I mean Ben 10 and Generator Rex are decent but they didn't do enough to make me huge fans. I only saw clips of The Boondocks purely for the memes that's it. And don't even get on shows and movies like Powerpuff Girls, My Little Pony, Steven Universe, The Amazing World of Gumball, We Bare Bears, Adventure Time, Regular Show, Ninjago, and a couple others. Yeah I'm sorry but those shows even if I watched some of them they are just not my style bruh like... I'm sorry flame me if you want but that's just how I feel.
Y'all are telling me I'm missing out on peak like Ninjago when Hoyoverse games especially Honkai Impact 3rd have delivered me more peak in a single day, Hell a single hour than Ninjago could do an entire lifetime. People be saying that shows like Steven Universe having some of the best character development y'all ain't acting like I don't got shows like Naruto. "But many cartoons are sad and depressing." Yeah well so is Kingdom Hearts, Honkai Impact 3rd, Punishing Gray Raven, Attack on Titan, Tokyo Ghoul, Akame ga Kill, Mega Man X, Mega Man Zero, Shadow the Hedgehog's storyline, etc. And those stories literally live and breathe off depression on a daily basis. As for friendships and worldview changes why would I want to watch My Little Pony for that when again Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Dragon Ball, Fairy Tail, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Honkai Impact 3rd, Punishing Gray Raven, Fullmetal Alchemist, Spy x Family, Star Wars, and may many more have taught me that exact same lesson? Like I'm straight.
Don't get me wrong if you like most cartoons especially the ones I mentioned that's fine, but me personally they are not my style I prefer action packed, dark, depressing, fun loving stories with characters I can enjoy which video games and anime have been able deliver. Cartoons some of them not all of them don't take themselves seriously enough for me to care. There's a reason why cartoons stopped appearing on Mario, Sonic, Mega Man DEATH BATTLE! anymore. I definitely would say that cartoons is the one popular genre I'm not interested in.
