I'm not gonna lie. Lokey Mega Man was the better crossover in DC and it's literally no contest.
Now initially when the DC crossover was announced I was intrigued yet somewhat excited to see what Ian and the writers were cooking. However after the last volume I am somewhat disappointed. But starting things off with the good stuff I do like some of the interactions between some of the Sonic and DC characters especially Sonic and Flash with that race. However that's pretty much the only good thing about this comic as everything else based on my research and from what I've seen yeah nah it's just straight up mid. First off all I don't really like the designs especially on the DC characters although I could push this aside if the story is decent, but unfortunately it was not. The villains they fought were fairly easily defeated too easy like Batman beating Metal Sonic. I know powerscaling doesn't matter but Batman beating Metal Sonic is just straight up plot armor. As for Sonic beating Reverse-Flash I could let this slide I but the way Sonic beats him wasn't stupid like so in the fight Sonic uses Chaos Control to beat Reverse-Flash. The problem here is that in DC Thawne and other Flash has beaten people with similar abilities similar to Chaos Control. They literally break time and space with speed alone and you're telling me Thawne loses to an ability that warps time and space? Yeah I don't buy it. But the last problem is the way they treated Darkseid. First of all Darkseid being the main villain of this comic bothered me because Darkseid is one of the most dangerous villains in all of DC his intelligence, cunning, and incredible power are why he causes almost all DC characters to shit themselves. He's literally conquered the universe and flat out beaten the Justice League on many occasions across all media. That's how terrifying Darkseid is but in this crossover comic he's a total joke. Not once did I see him decimate the Sonic or the DC universes with ease not once did I see him squad wipe the Sonic or the DC cast like he would've and when he fights Super Sonic he apparently can't do damage to him? Yeah I don't know what Ian was smoking when he and them wrote this but it's ridiculous. They also are apparently teasing a Eggman and Lex Luther team up but I feel like they should've been the villains from the start and saved Darkseid for later. Overall the Sonic x DC crossover had potential but they dropped the ball as they completely rushed the five issues. I also feel like this comic crossover only exists so that Sonic powerscalers can piss off DC fans considering all the debates going on and that's honestly another reason why I feel like this crossover fumbled especially in terms of storytelling.
This however is not the case when it comes to the Sonic x Mega Man crossover comics. Not only was the story longer but there are a lot more good things to talk about. The designs on both sides are dope, the interactions between the characters especially Sonic and Mega Man are phenomenal and the story is actually good. They had some believable moments like when Sonic resisted time stop from Flash Man like instead of warping with Chaos Control the reason why Sonic won is the time stop was simply too slow. Eggman and Wily are the main villains and they saved people like Sigma for later also Super Sonic and Super Mega Man teaming up and saving the day in the high stakes battle was so amazing I wish this was in a video game. Ian and the writers clearly took their time in terms of Worlds Collide and Worlds Unite and they delivered spectacularly. So yeah I'd definitely say the Mega Man crossover was better. The comparison is the equivalent of putting a hydrogen bomb against a coughing baby, that's how much better the Mega Man crossover is over the DC one.
