Chapter 79

Neymar's POV
Mae and Cia were cleaning the dishes and Mae and Pai were talking outside in the garden when I went inside to get a bottle of water. But I heard mae and Cia talking.

"So are you guys planning on getting engaged again?" Mae asked her. I was excited to hear her reply.

"Well I asked him for some time before we do that again but I just don't feel like wearing that ring again. It brought us both nothing but bad luck last time so I'm really scared to put it back on. I tried wearing it but I just can't." She told. Hearing this made me feel so bad. Why haven't I thought about it yet? I'm so stupid.

"Don't worry. Now that he's got his lesson it's not going to matter. But if you still need time take it. I think he will understand." Mae said and hugged her.

I went outside again as I heard them coming and we all sat down to talk. But I was lost in my thoughts. Why hadn't I thought about the ring? Among all the things how have I missed out on such an important thing? I was just thinking if I should tell her what I heard or not. Or should I get a new ring and propose to her again? Is she ready?

I looked at her and she asked me what happened in a low voice and I just shook my head but I know she will ask me later. What am I going to tell her? Should I say the truth if I did maybe she will feel bad about it. No, I will just lie and I also have to plan on doing something for her.

It was almost evening time so we decided to go to Cia's house. We said goodbye to mae and pai and left.

Cias POV
We left after saying our goodbyes. I rang the doorbell and my sister came jumping at me.

"Ciary..!!!!" She hugged me.

"I missed you so much, Crissy." I hugged her back.

"Hi, Neymar." She hugged him too.

We went inside to find granny, dad, and his girlfriend sitting in the living room.

'Hi, grans." I hugged her.

"Hello, uncle." Ney greeted my dad.

"Hey, dad." I just greeted him nothing more

"Listen Cia I know I have not been a good father since your mom passed away and I'm sorry for that but please don't be like this. I miss you so much." He said and I didn't know what to say I looked at Ney and he nodded his head assuring me to forgive him.

"It's okay. Even I had been a little distant. And when I found out about her I thought you betrayed mom. I thought you forgot about her." I said looking at his girlfriend.

"It's nothing like that Ciara... Your dad loves your mom and misses her so much. But life can't stay at a halt right? We need to move on. I'm not here to take your mom's place I know I can't do that but you can see me as a friend." She said and it melted me down.

"I'm sorry for being rude. I guess welcome to the family." I hugged her and my dad was smiling.
