Secretary Shen glanced at her through the rearview mirror. Zong Ying remained expressionless. Once he looked away, she quietly lowered her head and took out her phone.

She opened a news app, quickly scrolled back, found the financial article from yesterday titled "Lü Qianming Buys More Shares in Xinxhi Pharma Again, Possibly Surpassing Top Shareholder Zong Qinglin", and swiped to the comments section, trying to find a particular reply-but it was gone.

Zong Ying frowned, tapped on the top comment, and looked through the replies one by one, but still couldn't find the sarcastic response she had clearly seen while waiting at the airport yesterday.

The content was vaguely like: "Is Sister Xing on the same side as the Zong Qinglin family? Who knows?" But now, it had been silently deleted-

Just like how someone had quietly taken away the theme park ticket-an act of subtle cover-up. (From the novel "Graduation Left Us With Nothing")

Zong Yu's protective charm was from Mount Emei, and Secretary Shen-or maybe someone around Lü Qianming-had just returned from there. What might have been coincidence now seemed suspicious due to this deliberate concealment.

If Zong Yu's mother wasn't on the same side as Zong Qinglin, then who was she aligned with? (From the novel "A Journey Full of Blossoms")

Lü Qianming?

Zong Ying looked down at her phone screen silently. Based on these two clues, she couldn't definitively prove that Zong Yu's mother and Lü Qianming had an affair, but there was definitely a secret connection between them-perhaps a transaction, or perhaps romantic involvement and it is hidden very carefully.

What were they planning? Did Zong Qinglin know? Was it related to Xing Xueyi's case?

Zong Ying pressed the power button to turn off the screen and looked out the car window with pursed lips.

The rain was getting heavier. Inside the car, the sound of rain was muffled. Lightning flashed, illuminating the trees by the roadside in a ghostly green before thunder dimmed them again.

Leaving the villa district, the city under the rainy night was unusually quiet under the dim yellow streetlights. Lights in homes gradually went out as night deepened, and the changing lights on buildings looked like a silent play.

As they entered the city and stopped at a red light, Zong Ying glimpsed a familiar figure on the sidewalk. He was walking fast, crossing the wet crosswalk in the rain to the other side of the road.

Recognizing him, Zong Ying suddenly said, "Mr. Shen, let me get out after this red light."

Though her request came abruptly, Secretary Shen didn't ask questions. He passed through the light and stopped the car. As she opened the door, he thoughtfully handed her an umbrella: "Be careful, Miss Zong."

She accepted the umbrella with a brief thanks and hurried out of the car. When she turned, the familiar figure had already walked quite a distance along the street.

The green light to cross didn't come on, so Zong Ying walked quickly along the same side of the road. Near the next crosswalk, she finally caught up with his position. As the green light turned on, she dashed across the crosswalk and breathlessly grabbed Sheng Qingrang.

Catching her breath, she moved the umbrella halfway over and met his surprised gaze:
"You're walking too fast."

Sheng Qingrang's eyelids trembled slightly. His words were a little disordered:
"It's raining, so I walked fast. It wasn't raining where I was. I forgot to bring an umbrella."
