I went home that night with butterflies in my stomach. But I knew the feeling would soon be over since it never lasted for me.
Nathan came in with a huge grin on his face. "Well, looks like my little brother went to the biggest party of the year. And he didn't even get wasted." He walked over and put a hand to my forehead. "Are you feeling okay, little bro?"
"I'm fine." I pushed his arm away.
"Heard you broke up with Dakota the other day. Was she mad?"
"I thought she was going to kill me at one point."
"She was kind of annoying anyway. She always tried to flirt with me whenever she came over." Nathan looked at me. "Go to bed, you look like a train wreck."
I rolled my eyes once he left. "Asshole."
There was no book I wanted to read besides A Tale of Two Cities. So I sat on my bed and indulged in the words once again and read until I fell asleep. I wanted to read it every night after that, after meeting Ani.
