Dear Journal,

Much to my discomfort, Pattie and my mom have become really good friends. I have managed to avoid Justin the whole time I've been here, except the first two days obviously. It's kind of easy because I don't really go anywhere. Its summer so I don't have any friends. I've finally got my room the way I want it. Mom said we could do whatever we want with our walls. I've been writing on mine. It looks cool. The only bad thing is, my balcony is right across from Justin's room.

Mom is calling to me so I have to go.

I quickly hid my journal and grabbed a sweatshirt. "Yeah Mom?" I asked walking downstairs, pulling the sweatshirt over my head.

"Pattie and I are going out somewhere and Ty is at a friends house, so I want you to go over to Justin's house."

"Mom, why can't I stay here?" I whined.

"Jesika, you know why. I don't want to hear it," Mom said and I knew that meant the discussion was over. I slowly put my shoes on and walked out the door. With Mom and Pattie right behind me, I made my way over to the neighboring house. To the person I've been avoiding.

"Don't worry Mrs. Williams, Jesika is safe with me." Justin said as I ducked under his waving arm. I heard the door shut and I was hoping Justin would leave me alone. No such luck. "The guys are upstairs." Justin said. "I know you're a girl so you probably don't like them, but we're playing video games." He looked over at me. I looked down at my socks. "Do you want to come play?" I walked into what I'm assuming was the living room. I sat down on the couch. "Jesika, I don't understand why you've been avoiding me." I don't understand why it bothers you

"I don't understand why you assume all girls don't like video games."

"I know you've been home. Your mom keeps saying you're busy. I know you just want to avoid me. But I don't know why." I looked up at him and bit my lip. He was kicking at something on the floor, looking at me through his eyelashes. I sighed and then looked back at my socks.

"Well why do you think? Since you know so much." Sarcasm was my best friend in situations like this.

"I think you're afraid of getting too close to me." Justin said with a sort of smile. It wasn't the usual smirk I was used to from him though so it caught me off guard and made me pause for a second.

"I think you're hoping I will." I retorted. His grin just got bigger at my words, making me wonder what he had planned now, but then he nodded over toward the stairs.

"Come on." He said. "I mean unless you are scared to lose to us boys."

"I could beat you all with my eyes shut."

"Prove it." Justin said and raised his eyebrows. So against my better judgement, here I was, walking upstairs to Justin Bieber's room, where three of his guy friends were.

"Whoa, dude. She's so beating you." One of the other boys said. Justin failed to mention their names. I guess it was something he never came across, someone not knowing every detail of his life, down to his friends names. I hadn't said a single word since I got into Justin's room. He was trying, but failing miserably, to change that. He had bet me he could win and then I'd have to talk.

"We aren't done yet." Justin growled at the boy. We were playing a racing game. I was about to win when out of nowhere, there goes Justin. "Ha! I told you." Justin said to his friends. Then he turned to me. "Now you have to talk."

"Fine. Who are your friends?" I asked and they all immediately turned to me. I felt my cheeks color a little as they all stared wide eyed at me.

"Are you for real?" The tallest friend asked.

"About not knowing you? Yeah. I'm not a fan." I said and shrugged. No one said anything for a few minutes, they were all just staring at me. I sighed, "Wow, okay, or not."

"Oh, right. Sorry. This is Chaz." Justin said pointing to the tallest of them. "Ryan." He pointed to the other boy his age. "And Christian. He's only 15 like you."

"Your point?" I didn't mean to say that because obviously its sort of rude, but it slipped out. Christian was kind of just looking at me. I gulped, "I'm sorry." I said looking down at the floor. I stood up from in front of the tv and went and sat against the wall. I pulled my knees up to my chest and wrapped my arms around my shins.

While Ryan, Chaz, and Justin played, Christian came and sat next to me. He looked over at me and I remembered my little outburst. "I'm sorry about my comment." I said and looked over at him.

"It's cool. I didn't think you meant it." He smiled at me, I turned away. "I know its none of my business and you don't have to answer, but why did you guys move here?"

"You're right. It is none of your business." I said and smiled at him. He smiled back.

"Alright. Well did you know you're driving Justin crazy? He is looking over here every 5 minutes."

"Is not." I scoffed.

"Oh yeah?" Christian asked raising his eyebrows. "He's going to look over here in a second." Christian told me. "How much you wanna bet?" I turned and looked at Justin and he turned to look at me. I turned back to Christian. "I told you." He said and we started laughing. Justin turned away.

I couldn't help but laugh. As soon as I realized it though, I immediately stopped. How could I be happy when I killed my dad? It wasn't right. I couldn't do it. Christian noticed and he stopped laughing too. He didn't say anything, just sat there. Maybe we could be friends.

Someones phone went off, disrupting my thoughts, "Hello?" I looked up and saw Ryan had his phone pressed to his ear, listening now. "Alright, I'm leaving." He spoke into the phone, then took it from his ear and hung up. "Chaz, time to go. Your mom called my phone. You left yours at home. But we both have to leave." Ryan said.

"Alright. See ya man." Chaz said to Justin. The three of them did that guy handshake thing and then Ryan and Chaz walked to the door. They did the handshake thing with Christian and then looked at me. I would never understand boys and their handshake. Whats wrong with just saying bye? "Uh, bye Jesika." Chaz said and Ryan looked at him. I just stared at them. I wasn't used to people actually noticing me when I just met them.

"Bye." I said as they shut the door.

"Christian, lets play." Justin said.

"My sister's gonna be here in like five minutes."

"Caitlin?" Justin said, his head perking up.

"No, my other, non existent, sister." Christian said. I looked at Justin. Whoever this Caitlin girl is, Justin and her definitely have something.

"Justin!" I heard a shriek from the door. That girl walked in and went over and hugged Justin. He wrapped her in his arms. Awkwardly, I stood up.
