The morning light crept in slowly, pale and quiet, brushing against the curtains and settling over the bed where two bodies lay tangled together. The world outside was already awake, already moving toward deadlines and verdicts, but inside the apartment, time still felt gentle.

Wonyoung stirred first.

She shifted carefully, not wanting to wake him yet. Yujin was still asleep, one arm draped around her waist, his face relaxed in a way it never was during the day. His brows weren't furrowed, his jaw unclenched. Just her husband, not Attorney Ahn Yujin.

She watched him for a long moment, thumb tracing small circles against his forearm. Today, they would stand on opposite sides of the courtroom. Today, they would argue against each other with sharp words and colder logic. But right now-right now, he was hers.

"Baby," she whispered softly, leaning closer. "It's morning."

He hummed, tightening his arm around her instinctively, pulling her closer until her face pressed against his chest. "Five more minutes, baby," he murmured, voice rough with sleep. "The law can wait."

She smiled, heart softening. "The law can't. And neither can you."

She brushed her fingers through his hair, slow and soothing, then pressed a kiss to his temple. "Wake up for me."

His eyes fluttered open at that, dark lashes lifting as he focused on her face. For a second, he just stared at her, like he was still deciding whether he was dreaming.

"...You're really my wife," he said quietly.

She laughed under her breath. "Still. Even today."

His lips curved into a small smile. "Especially today."

He sat up slowly, rubbing his face with one hand, hair sticking up messily. She slipped out of bed and stood in front of him, smoothing down the collar of his sleep shirt without thinking.

"You're nervous," she said gently.

He didn't deny it. "You're terrifying in court, baby."

She raised a brow. "So are you."

They got ready together, the way they always did-comfortably, familiarly. Wonyoung insisted he shower first while she prepared breakfast he barely touched, too focused on the day ahead. When he came back out, dressed halfway in his suit, she was waiting.

His shirt was buttoned wrong-one skipped, one crooked-and his tie hung loosely around his neck, untouched.

She crossed her arms. "You're a mess."

He sighed dramatically. "I slept next to the opposing counsel. I deserve sympathy."

"Come here," she said, already stepping closer.

Yujin stood still as she fixed his buttons one by one, fingers warm against his chest. He watched her intently, throat bobbing every time her knuckles brushed his skin.

"You don't have to do this," he said softly. "You know that, right?"

"I want to," she replied. "You took care of me all through law school. Let me take care of you now."

She picked up his tie, looping it around his neck with slow precision. Yujin's hands hovered uselessly at his sides.

"You're helping your rival," he murmured.

"I'm helping my baby," she corrected, tugging the tie gently into place. "The rival part starts after we leave this apartment."

She adjusted it carefully, straightening the knot until it sat perfectly at his collar. Her fingers lingered there, resting against his chest.
