The continues of still him part 2
The rain outside slowed to a soft drizzle again, but inside the stall the air felt heavier than before.
Wonyoung stood still in front of the counter.
Close enough now that Yujin could no longer pretend she wasn’t there.
His fingers tightened slightly around the cloth in his hand.
For a long moment, he didn’t speak.
Then—
He exhaled.
Quiet. Controlled.
Like he was forcing something down.
“I’m sorry,” he said finally.
Wonyoung blinked.
Yujin kept his gaze lowered.
“You’ve mistaken me,” he repeated, voice steady but distant. “I’m not who you think I am.”
The words landed softly.
But they didn’t feel light.
Wonyoung’s lips parted slightly.
“…Yujin.”
He shook his head once.
Not sharply.
Just enough.
“No,” he said quietly. “I think you’re remembering someone else.”
Silence stretched between them.
Minjun, standing a few steps away, stopped moving completely. Even the sound of dishes in his hands slowed.
Wonyoung didn’t look away.
She studied him carefully.
Every detail.
The way his shoulders stayed tense like he was bracing for impact.
The way his eyes refused to stay on hers for more than a second.
The way his voice sounded polite… but carefully empty.
It wasn’t unfamiliar.
It was just… broken in a way she had never seen before.
“You’re lying,” she said softly.
Yujin’s jaw tightened slightly.
But he still didn’t look at her.
“I don’t have a reason to lie,” he replied.
That was the worst part.
He said it so calmly.
Like it was normal to deny your own past.
Wonyoung stepped a little closer to the counter.
“I know it’s you,” she said again, firmer this time. “I’m not confused.”
Yujin finally looked up.
Just briefly.
His eyes met hers for half a second—
And something in his expression flickered.
Not anger.
Not fear.
Something closer to exhaustion… like he was tired of being seen.
Then he looked away again.
“Please,” he said quietly.
