The warehouse stood quiet, lights flickering weakly against the concrete walls.
Yujin stepped out of the car alone.
No hesitation.
The big metal door was already half open — like they were waiting.
Of course they were.
The moment he stepped inside—
A punch slammed into his jaw from the side.
Another hit his ribs.
Then another.
Four men surrounded him fast, trained enough to hurt, not kill.
Yujin didn’t block.
Didn’t fight back.
He took it.
Each hit landing heavy, dull thuds echoing in the empty space.
Blood touched the corner of his lip.
One of them kicked behind his knee and forced him down.
Still, he didn’t resist.
Because his eyes were searching.
And then he saw her.
Wonyong.
Tied to a chair under the hanging bulb, head lowered, hair messy, wrists red from struggling.
Alive.
A man stood beside her.
Fingers casually brushing her cheek like she was something he owned.
That was the moment.
Something inside Yujin snapped.
Not loud.
Not dramatic.
Just—
Gone.
The version of him that stayed controlled… disappeared.
His voice came out low. Dangerous.
“Take your hands off my property… you filthy bastards.”
The men holding him laughed, forcing him to his knees.
The man in front of Wonyong turned slowly.
Smile wide.
Eyes familiar.
Too familiar.
“Property?” he repeated softly. “You always talk like that, hyung.”
Yujin froze.
That word.
Hyung.
The man stepped closer into the light.
Older now. Taller. Scar near his eyebrow. But the face—
Yujin’s breathing stopped for a second.
“…Impossible.”
The man tilted his head. “Don’t you miss me, hyung?”
A memory crashed into Yujin’s mind like broken glass.
A window.
A backyard.
An old man.
A child screaming.
Being buried.
That child.
Him.
“You’re dead,” Yujin said flatly.
