The airport lights were too bright for how exhausted Yujin felt.

After hours in the sky, crossing time zones, dealing with turbulence, announcements, and responsibility, all he wanted was silence… and them.

His uniform was still crisp—navy blazer fitted perfectly over his shoulders, gold stripes gleaming under the artificial lights. His luggage rolled smoothly behind him as he walked through the arrival hall, eyes scanning lazily at first.

Then he froze.

Near the exit.

Standing just a little to the side of the crowd—

Wonyoung.

And in her arms… their son.

For a second, Yujin thought he was imagining it. They weren’t supposed to come. He had told her not to—told her it was late, told her Arthurs needed rest.

But there she was anyway.

Her long hair fell softly over her shoulders, slightly messy like she had rushed out. Her arms were wrapped securely around their one-year-old boy, who was dressed in a tiny hoodie, his cheeks round and flushed.

Yujin’s chest tightened.

Something warm, something overwhelming, hit him all at once.

Without even realizing it, his steps quickened.

Wonyoung saw him first.

Her eyes lit up instantly, a soft smile spreading across her face—the kind that always made him feel like he was finally home.

“Yujin…”

He didn’t say anything.

He just reached her—and pulled her into him.

The hug was tight. Firm. Real.

His arms wrapped around her like he needed to make sure she was actually there, his hand pressing gently against the back of her head as he buried his face into her shoulder.

Wonyoung let out a small laugh, slightly breathless. “You’re still in uniform…”

“I missed you,” he muttered quietly, his voice low, tired—but filled with something deeper.

She softened instantly, her free hand coming up to hold onto him.

“I know.”

For a moment, everything else disappeared. The noise. The people. The announcements echoing through the airport.

It was just them.

Then—

A small, curious sound.

Yujin pulled back slightly.

His eyes shifted down.

Arthurs.

The little boy was staring at him.

Wide eyes. Blank expression.

Tiny fingers gripping tightly onto Wonyoung’s sleeve.

Yujin’s heart skipped.

Slowly, carefully, he crouched down to meet him at eye level, his movements gentle—like he was afraid of scaring him.

“Hey…” Yujin said softly, his voice completely different now—warmer, softer, something only reserved for his son.

Arthurs blinked.

He didn’t smile.

Didn’t react.
