The front door slammed so hard that the family portrait hanging in the hallway tilted against the wall.

Silence followed.

An Yujin stood in the middle of the living room, his chest rising and falling heavily. His tie hung loosely around his neck after another fourteen-hour day at the office. His phone continued vibrating with messages from board members, investors and overseas clients, but he ignored every single notification.

His eyes remained fixed on the empty space where Jang Wonyoung had been standing only seconds ago.

"You never listen to me anymore," her trembling voice echoed in his mind.

"I've been trying to keep this family together!" he had shouted back.

"By never being here?"

"I'm working for us!"

"I never asked you to destroy yourself for us!"

Neither of them had intended for the argument to become so cruel.

But weeks of bottled-up frustration had exploded all at once.

For the past three months, Yujin had been buried under endless problems at work. His company had lost a major contract. Investors questioned his decisions. Competitors were attacking his reputation. He barely slept, barely ate, and every time he returned home, another crisis was waiting on his phone.

Meanwhile, Wonyoung had been living alone in their huge house every night.

She waited for dinners that became cold.

She waited for promises that were postponed.

She waited for conversations that always ended with...

"Can we talk tomorrow? I'm exhausted."

At first she understood.

Then she became lonely.

Then she became angry.

Her stubborn personality only made things worse.

Instead of telling him how much she missed him, she complained.

Instead of admitting she felt abandoned, she became colder.

And Yujin...

Already carrying the weight of an entire company...

Started losing patience.

Tonight was different.

The fight became personal.

"You care more about your company than your wife!"

"I am doing this because you're my wife!"

"No. You're doing this because you've forgotten how to be my husband!"

Those words cut deeper than either of them realised.

When Wonyoung whispered...

"Maybe... we should just get divorced."

Yujin froze.

He stared at her in complete disbelief.

"What did you just say?"

She looked away, tears already falling.

"I can't do this anymore."

"Wonyoung."

"I said I can't do this anymore!"

His heart shattered.

"You don't mean that."
