I'm sitting in the passenger seat as my brother pretends I don't exist. The first two hours of the ride I was thankful for the silence. I was able to take a little nap and the Tylenol I took earlier finally kicked in so my headache disappeared. But now I'm kind of pissed. Every time I have tried to start a conversation with Archer he shuts it down, giving me one word answers if he choses to respond at all.
I don't understand why he's so mad! I pull out my phone and shoot off a text to Ellie who is quietly humming to the music in the back seat. I hear her phone vibrate, and then a few seconds later the clack of her nails tapping the screen fills the car.
I turn around in my seat to glare at Ellie. She smiles innocently and mouths, "what?" The confidence in this girl is as voluminous as her ponytail. I face forward and type back a quick response.
She types back a couple seconds later. I frown down at the screen. There wasn't anything to tell. Well, at least nothing that I can think of. I take a deep breath and force myself to try to remember the full story of what happened at the party last night.
