Well, sorry about yesterday! That day was pretty uneventful(well, except when dad and mum came back) and the iPad was charging(I'm typing on an iPad). Today, our whole family left Seattle and took a ferry to Victoria. We managed to see a group of orcas ^.^(A herd? A shoal? IDK >.< I'm not even sure whether it's orcas because we have to view from so far away)!!! Anyway, once we alighted from the ferry(wait, is it called "alighted"? :/ I got to revise my verbs! >.<), we walked to Double Tree hotel (well, more like pushed because of the luggage).
After sorting out all out stuff in our hotel room, we ate an improper lunch(later you will see why), and went to Fairmount Empress hotel. We went there because it is world famous for tea, you know the meal Americans/British eat in the afternoon. Apparently it's world famous because it has been serving tea for over 105 YEARS!!! Geez, that's a lot of years! According to the menu(don't ask), a Duchess of Bedford served the exact meal we are going to eat for tea to her guest and the china we are served with has food laden on it for the royalty in around the mid-20th century. 1949, I think? Oh and BTW, you can't exactly call it a menu because you can't choose the food you want. It just show you the food you are going to be served with.
First of all, they served us fresh strawberries with Empress cream(their own made cream). A pretty light dish, if you ask me. Then they served us the rest of the food as recorded in the "menu". Sorry I can't remember all the food but I can tell you that we were all very full after this. And we got served with 12 small pieces of food(well, 1o as the scone is about the size of my fist and the fresh strawberries with Empress cream is served in a cup also about the size of my fist)!! O_O Well, they are calories-packed, I must say. And we are so full that we skipped dinner.
So....that's why we ate an improper lunch. And when to eat for tea? Well, in my opinion, if you go to the Fairmount Empress hotel for it, eat at lunch. Believe me, it's that filling.
