Chapter Twenty

"Oh..." napayuko na lang ang dalaga sa nalaman niya. Kaagad namang iniangat ni Elmo ang mukha niya at tinitigan siyang muli.

"Don't worry, she's gone." napakunot naman ng noo si Julie.

"What do you mean?" umiwas ng tingin ang binata at tumingin sa malayo.

"She's dead. She died 5 years ago... because of cancer."

Nanatili naman ang tingin ng dalaga sa mga mata ni binata na nakatingin sa malayo...

"You loved her, so much... don't you?" ani Julie. May kaunting hinanakit sa boses.

Elmo looked at her and smiled. "Yes, but not as much as I love you. She's just my past now... Okay? Don't overthink, Queen..." he said as he kissed her forhead. " I love you so much."

"I love you too..." she replied. As she found herself dumb for being jealous on a dead person.

Silence come between them again. It's not an awkward silence, it was a comfortable one...Until Julie breaks the ice.

"What if... what if one day, one of us will leave?" Elmo looked at her with his creasing forhead.

"What? What made you think of that?" He asked in disbelief.

"Well, King... As you can see, we're still young. Marami pang mangyayari sa atin. We'll grow up and baka... baka mawala yung love mo for me..." She said as she bowed her head. She don't even what she's saying

"Pssh. We'll grow up, yes. We'll grow up together. Nothing will change, my love for you is for a lifetime okay? And to let you know, I won't let that happen." He said as he hugged her tight.

"Julie!" Napalingon siya ng may tumawag sakanya.

"Ivan?" Matagal tagal din niyang di nakita ang binata. Kaya naman napatakbo siya dito't yumakap. Ginantihan rin naman iyon ng dalaga.

"Ivan! Kamusta ka na?" Ngiti-ngiting tanong niya.

"Eto okay na rin naman... Ikaw? Di ka ba pinapahirapan ni insan?" Ngiting tanong nito.

"I'm good. Hindi naman, he treats me like a princess."

"Good. Atleast you're in good arms. Mahal na mahal ka nun kahit gago." Natatawang sambit ng binata na ikinatawa rin ni Julie.

"Nga pala, where have you been? Tagal kitang di nakita ah?" Julie asked confused.

"Early trainings. Pumunta akong states the day after kong umalis noon sa beach. Ni-train nako ni Dad sa pagiinvest at pagmamanage ng company. Afterall, ako pa rin naman hahawak nun..." Seryosong sambit nito. Tumango tango naman ang dalaga at nagsimula na silang maglakad.

"How about your studies?"

"I took my lessons online tho. By the way, you free? Wanna grab some coffee?" ani Ivan. Ngumiti naman ang dalaga at tumango.

"Sure. I'd love to." it's been a month since the last time she saw Ivan. She actually missed bonding with him. At least, he's still her friend after the thing happened a month ago.

They went inside the nearest coffee shop in school and ordered some coffee, as they continue their on going conversation...

"So, tell me, how's you and Elmo?" Ivan asked as he smiled. Julie's smile widened as she hear her boyfriend's name.
