Iya's POV
Eric was my best friend way back then. We were classmates since grade 3.
Eric was tall and his eyes were the most attractive to him. Mapungay ang mga ito. He also has the perfect smile.
"Dad, samahan ko po muna si Iya. Wala pa po kasi siyang sundo, eh." Paalam niya sa daddy niya.
"Okay, son. I'll wait for you there."
"Thank you, ha." I said smiling.
"No problem. Best friends tayo, diba?"
"I know. Pero syempre, maraming bad guys dyan. And I don't want you to be hurt by them," he replied.
I stay silent then at naghintay kami sa tita ko sa playground.
Naging best friends kami hanggang grade 6. Because that time, he is only friend that I have. I mean, yung masasabihan mo ng problems and secrets, masasabi mo yung gusto mong sabihin ng walang hiya hiya. In short, open kami sa isa't-isa.
There were times na nasa amin siya, bibisita siya pag weekends. First year high school ata kami 'non.
"O, kain lang nang kain, ah." sabi ni Tita habang bitbit ang fries and chips with matching cheese dip. Yay!
"Thank you po, Tita." sabi ko.
"Thank you po." sabi ni Eric.
"Naku, lagi kang welcome dito, Eric, ah! Basta aalagaan mo 'tong pamangkin ko."
"Makakaasa po kayo." sagot naman ni Eric
"Tita!"
Diretso tayo samin, ah?" Sabi ni Eric. Uwian na namin ngayon. It was month of March. Patapos na rin ang school year.
"Oo naman, and I know 'no!
I brought Tita Erica flowers. Wala kasi akong maisip, eh.
I greeted her as I give the flowers I bought.
"Thank you, anak! Naku, nag abala ka pa," sabi niya. I smiled. "Ang simple nga lang po, tita. It's okay po."
They treat me as part of their family. Which I am forever grateful for.
Pag wala si Tita para umattend ng events sa school for me, Tita Erica was there.
"'Ta, sorry po sa abala." sabi ko. It was one time na may meeting sa school.
"Ano ka ba, wag mong intindihin yun," she said smiling. I smiled back at her.
Hanggang mag second year, magkasama pa rin kami ni Eric. Nadagdagan din naman ang friends namin. Pag lunch time, kina Rein at Krizel ako sumasama. Siya naman, kina Brix at Gio. I admit that our friendship grow deeper in time. Until one day in our sophomore year, nag open na siya ng nararamdaman niya sakin.
