Chapter 4

We drove around for a little 'cause we were going to be early to school. "So how old are you girls" he looks at me "we're 16" I said looking at him smiling "so you guys are in the 10th grade," he said nodding his head. He sticks one arm out the window.

"So is your parents home right now" he looks at Bee "yea,"

"What are their names" "Diane and Sam" I said "got any brothers or sisters" "we got a 24 year-old brother" Bee said

"What's his name?" He looks in his rear end mirror "Daniel" I look at my backpack. I was about to cry because it brought back memories from what happened this morning.

"Are your parents married" in his tone of voice it sounded like he was hoping they weren't "no they're not married... I'm thinking my Mom doesn't want to marry him" I said looking out the window "why is that?" He said looking at me in a serious face.

"I don't know" I said lying "anyway, do you girls do any sports or play an instrument?" He said

"Yea, I play basketball, volleyball, softball, and track. The instruments I play are piano and tenor saxophone an alto saxophone," Bee said happy

"You Ski," he looked at me "I play volleyball, softball, and track. The instruments I play are piano and trumpet." I look at him and gave a little smile.

"You don't play basketball Ski" "I did in elementary school, 6th and half of 7th grade" I looked at him twirling my fingers in my hair.

When I twirl my fingers in my hair that means I'm nervous or scared, but in this case I'm nervous.

"You didn't play the whole 7th grade year or semester" "no because my Dad took me out of it"

"Why is that?" He makes a right turn "I don't know why" I lied, I did know.

My Dad was cheating on my Mom with this one girl. My Mom knew about it too, I was pissed 'cause she knew about it and didn't do nothing about it. Well, anyway, he brought the girl home and didn't even introduce her to us. He just took her to his room, and I think you know what they did from there. He stayed with her for about 4 months.

~Flash Back

"Leave me the f*ck alone, I don't ever want to see again. Don't even think about calling me too" the lady said leaving my house slamming the door. I think that woman is finally leaving my Dad for good, I don't think she could take his crap anymore.

I actually liked her. I call her a month later from my iPhone 5, just to talk to her.

It kept ringing but it went to voicemail "Hi, its me Ski I just wanted to talk. Well, okay bye" I hung up and just stared at the black screen on my phone.

I turn around and see my Dad standing by my bedroom doorway, "who were calling" he said walking in "no one" I stood up and was backing up.

"I'm going to ask again and don't lie to me" he shut the door and was grinding his teeth together "no one, Dad" I backed up to my bed."Ski, do you want me to hurt you 'cause-" he was interrupted by Bee busting through the door.

"Hey Ski, Zak, Aaron, Nick, Jay, and Ashley were dancing to 'Gangnam Style' in their car. It's a video on my phone. Wanta see it?" Bee was laughing but got serious when she saw my face.

"Yea" I walk out of the room looking behind me at the same time watching my back from my Dad. She showed me the video on her iPhone 5. We laughed at how wild Zak was doing it. Dad was pacing in front of us with an angry face, I was scared he might hurt us.

"Ski, you are not playing basketball anymore!!" he said pointing at me and yelling "why can't I play anymore" I had my hands in a "why" position up in the air, "because you're lying to me and you're grounded don't say another word to me" he was screaming at me.

I start crying and ran to my room and cried in bed alnight. I really like basketball.

He took me out of basketball the next day.

~Present Day

We pulled up to Circle K "you girls want anything from the store" he said taking the keys out of the ignition "yea, can I have a doughnut" Bee said "me too" I added.
