AN ENDING BEFOREHAND
PARALYZED

Dakota stood from his crouch and took deliberately slow steps towards him. Terence stood his ground, which was difficult from both the wound in his leg and the shingles dropping from the roof all around him. The edge of the roof was directly behind him, too. He'll get closer, I'll throw him off...

Dakota was about five feet away when another cannon went off. Terence briefly looked at the ground below him to see the boy from Three with a sword implanted in his chest. He only had time to look back at his opponent before the shingles under his feet broke away from the roof and slid down, down, all the way to the edge of the roof. Terence lost his footing and fell straight down.

His fingers reached for the side of the roof and latched on. His last lifeline was his fingers; the drop would break something inside of him and having broken bones in the arena basically meant you were already dead. His shoulder bled profusely, as did his leg. Vermillion dripped from his shoes and landed on Three's pale, blending in with the freckles on his face.

Pull ups, that's all I need to do, just a simple pull up. He got to work on just that, using all his effort to pull himself back onto the roof. A sudden darkness was cast upon him, a shadow. Dakota's shadow, to be exact.

Terence's eyes pleaded to the boy. "C'mon, we could work this out..." he said, his voice more quiet than usual. More quiet than ever, actually.

Dakota regarded him with disgust. "The Careers are always pathetic. But you really take the cake. Have fun, Buhr. I'll see you in Hell." Then the boy's foot rose into the air, moved right over Terence's aching fingers, and dropped, stomped, crushed, grinded his hand into the roof until he released his lifeline.

Terence dropped like a rock in the ocean to the earth. The last thing he heard was a loud crack before losing all consciousness and succumbing to the ferocity of the arena.

TERENCE BUHR OVERALL

??? - GAMES CANCELLED

So, this is a bit overdue, and if you didn't know, that ending was just the very end of Terence's Bloodbath, just italicized to make it look more important. So, um, yeah. I figured I'd do this, since it's been bugging me for a while. I'm not too bummed that the games ended, seeing how we only got scored for one task, and I hated Terence with just...everything.

The thing is, I think I hated him so much I started to like him. As he wasn't given an official death, I've made one up here:

District 1 Male - Terence Buhr
Disliked from the very beginning, just from his overly fake attitude at the Reaping and snide remarks during the Interview, not many mourned the loss of this Career. It was surprising to see someone so strong and skilled die so early on, in the Bloodbath no less, but he had no one to care. So much was still in store for him, but it was cut short, as he was paralyzed when he hit the ground the wrong way after falling off the roof of the mansion. He lost consciousness, and it was during this time that another tribute came and plunged a sword into the middle of his forehead, killing him instantly.

I am satisfied with my own death. Now, since he didn't make it very far, this will be one very short Final Note.

TASK IMPRESSIONS

Task 1 - I had fun dabbling in a character that wasn't the kindest person around for once. However, it was here that I realized that I am terrible at writing assholes, and probably won't be doing it again unless they have some redeeming quality right off the bat, or if they are a complete badass.

Task 2 - I was so bored. Nothing was happening. Thus, a chase scene. And then, I got bored again, hated Terence with a passion at the time, decided to let him fall off a building. Never got a score for this, so I'm not sure if I liked the turnout of the entry. It was here the games ended, so I mean, yeah.

Now, if any of you read my Task One, although it's doubtful, you may have stumbled across a secondary character by the name of Luka.

And if any of you have read some of Aikin's entries, you can see where that name comes into play.

So, even though I hated Terence, I still let him in on the connections between Luka and whatever the hell he's been up to throughout the years. So, yes, Luka is a traveler, and initially came out of Terence's entries. So really, Terence is a small piece in the puzzle concerning The Scapegoat.

Expect most, if not all, of my tributes to be connected in some way or another.
