Okay. I think it's pretty obvious that I've confused a lot of you. So this is here to help organize everything somewhat significant into a little bunch to help anyone trying to crack the riddle. This'll either help or harm you, either way, I need it too, so I mean...yeah. Here's what I've got thus far:
Percy Cole and Nigel Cole are brothers. Simple enough? Okay.
Percy Cole volunteered in place of Nigel for the 23rd games and won, follow?
In the Odds to Ash "poem" I made, if I can even call it a poem, the first line says, "The Catalyst's fire burns with passion."
Percy Cole is The Catalyst. His fire burns because he sorta...burned...Ian...alive...and is very passionate about things! Yeah! That! Since we know of his existence, "The Catalyst" has been bolded in the poem.
I'm not going to try and hide the next line from you, because if you can piece things together, it's pretty obvious who The Fuel is. "The Fuel brings flares of defiance." Because I haven't written him yet, he's not bolded, and Fuel is subject to change any day now. But by the short story "Nigel's Gasoline," and all the implications that Nigel went and messed up big-time in his own games by being an asshole, we can all assume that The Fuel is Nigel Cole. Actually, I'm changing it to The Gasoline, because I like that better.
Percy has no descendants, we know this, blah blah, Nigel goes and gets married, has a kid by the name of Kurt Cole. There are a few other important details going on behind everything, but those will not be disclosed, because...I can do that.
I'm getting ahead of myself. Next line in the "poem," we have "The Relentless' licks of orange slither about the wrist of The Hourglass."
Aikin Ralent is The Relentless, obviously. Awe, Little Relentless...I miss him. He's the one that comes up with the saying, "Vicious. Barbaric. Wicked."
While Aikin was in his games, it was believed that his adoptive brother, Luka Odin, had been dead for quite some time, having been shot trying to escape a few Peacekeepers that found a drug deal going on. In the short story at the end of Aikin's Final Note, we find out that Luka is not dead, and goes under the nickname, The Scapegoat. He's last seen getting on a train headed to District Ten, and it can be assumed he travels under several different identities.
He says that he is going to gather up The Vicious, The Barbaric, and The Wicked. The identities of these persons are, um, hidden? He also says, "The Cole's can wait..."
So yeah. We have those three to focus on.
Heading back to that last poem line, "The Relentless' licks of orange slither about the wrist of The Hourglass."
Yes, The Hourglass is Beckett Malen. In his Bloodbath, he's been hit with the hallucinogens, and he sees the bracelet Corr made for him in the form of a snake slithering over his hand. After it bites him, it turns back into the bracelet, so that's where I got that.
Yes, Nigel and Percy knew Beckett's mother, Eileen Malen, pretty well, especially so before Percy was, as we now know, killed by Eileen. Nigel sort of knew it was her all along, but only really got to confronting her about it when Corradhin died.
Eileen screams about having a job to do, Nigel shoots her, nothing too eventful, and when he reads the note in her pocket, he's laughing because he knew a man by the name of Soamu Linacre right before he went into his own games. There was no way for you to know this, but I thought I'd let it out right now.
He's also laughing because both he and Eileen were used for different purposes - Eileen was basically given orders to kill certain people in order to keep her children safe, which, obviously, didn't work out in Beckett's favor. Nigel was just told to stay out of trouble. And then what does he do? Gets into trouble. Always.
Anyways, the note he finds also mentions an Emerett Malen. As Nigel mentioned, he hadn't seen Eileen in six months, and three months preceding, the bump would've been barely noticeable. I think. I'm no pregnancy expert, so please correct me if I'm wrong. Anyways, had Corradhin come back, he would've discovered the birth of Emerett, Eileen probably wouldn't have died, and everyone would live happily ever after.
But that didn't happen.
Bumping back to Kurt here, he gave birth to Corradhin Cole, who was extremely close to Beckett before the falling out they had. This resulted in Corradhin killing a messenger that would've given information that would get the both of them executed. It was a wrong place, wrong time moment, and Beck found the murder, Corradhin got mad because his actions to save their lives would cost their friendship, and then a whole bunch of mumbo-jumbo happened with guns and legs and limps and boom.
After Beckett died in the games, Corradhin volunteered, and subsequently got killed himself. "Veins throbbing with The Pulse," yup, Corradhin is The Pulse.
An unknown person shoots Kurt in the throat during Corradhin's games, but Nigel believes it was Eileen that did this. Still, he ded. HE DED. RAH.
-Eileen killed Percy.
-Beckett dies in the games.
-Kurt is shot and dies.
-Corradhin dies in the games.
-Nigel kills Eileen.
-Nigel takes Emerett.
-After Aikin dies, Luka reappears and travels.
-Luka momentarily visits Ten, backtracks to One, and heads back to Ten.
I hope this cleared up a few things.
It sure doesn't feel like it to me, oops.
