She had a heart of gold
Once she was an ocean
She flowed in and out with the tide
The sunset masked her hair
Inviting sailors to join her soireeBut then a storm hit
And she dropped her guard
It distorted her pacifism
And she was tossed about
And she lost the bridleNow she is a river
She is tumbling downstream
Unwelcome fishermen
Cast hooks inside her heart
And she is pulled in with no controll
Winds roar around her
And she has lost sight of direction
Ancient salt tears
Remind her of what she once was
Irrepressible stars mock her
As she is constrained to watch from far far below glory
No more tides to blame the raw wounds on
Just a steady river
With no alter.Me.
