I used to shut off
at the sound of a lullaby
A soft voice always hummed me into a peaceful sleep.
My nightlight hid me from monsters that hid in my closet
And under my bed
Never did they leave their fort
My mother brought me something to sip, tea.
Soft silk sheets snuggled me.
I gazed at the beautiful paintings that hung on the baby blue colored walls.
Calm
Smiles
Safe

Now lullaby's make me feel broken
Why doesn't happiness bring me peace
Why do demons comfort me
Why are they the ones that smack me to sleep
Why do horror storys drive me into the ground
So hard that they knock me out
Sleeping in a nightmare
Why does the light make me fear the monster inside me
Why do the sticky sheets toss me about and strap me down
No escaping this surgery table
I gulp down tears that the demond delivered
they won't stop pouring
Malfunction
Malfunction
Malfunction
Shadows that drip with blood is all I see dance around my black
Cave
I here these monsters laugh in my red face
I am being tortured
Forced
Into a nightmare
For the devil this is glory
Welcome to my bedtime story
