A/N: forgive my absence, year 12 has been keeping me very busy! Here's a large chapter to compensate, hope you all like it! Don't forget to comment, vote, follow and share to support me if you enjoy my work x

Winter passes much faster than I anticipated. It's now March and although the ice is mostly gone, the weather still gets very chilly in the morning. For Thanksgiving and Christmas, Jason and I flew back to Los Angeles to spend the holidays with his family. He's seemed to have a great understanding now just how important family is. I was happy to visit little Noah again. He's grown plenty since the last time I've seen him. And I see Bella and Emma as more precious now than ever, family should never be taken for granted. I see them as my own sisters, not to mention Merlyin has been blissfully kind.

Granted she's always been kind towards me, but this little additional kindness that she's implemented in our relationship has affected me in more ways than I expected. She's become more of a motherly figure to me now than she's been since the entire time that I've known her. And I doubt she or Jason understand how much I value this feeling. The bonding, and the sharing of memories and stories are something I really cherish in life, especially with family.

Jason had also finally turned 30. I had organised a large gathering at a reception area, invited all his family and everyone in his business. I had managed to keep it a surprise and he was very overwhelmed about what I had planned. He was happy, to say the least. He wouldn't stop telling me what a great time he had and how thankful he is to have such a caring girlfriend for three weeks.

Last night Jason and I barely talked as we were so busy, him with work and myself with studying constantly as my first year of college is almost complete and yet another exam is just around the corner. We only made light conversation at dinner before carrying on with our own business, and we cuddled in bed as we slept but didn't bother saying goodnight as we were both fairly tired.

I'm woken up by a hand running up the side of my body under the covers and I yawn as I change my position in bed. "Good morning." I whisper. I keep my eyes shut and I feel a smile creep onto my face because this is a pleasant way to wake up every morning. Jason is always gentle, quiet, and delicate when it comes to waking me now. I'm glad he's stopped being annoying by poking my face or shaking my shoulder, by now I'm sure he realises it'd for his own sake. "Britney, we're late. Please wake up we need to leave soon." "Leave to where? I don't have any classes today." I mumble as I turn my back to him. He runs his hand down my back and I feel him place a kiss on my forehead.

"I organised something that I think you will enjoy very much. I know that it's a bit early but please, I want to leave as soon as possible." I sit up and rub my eyes. "Flight? I didn't know you're going away today. You want me to come with you to the airport? Where are you going to and for how long?" I yawn and bring my arms up to stretch. "I'm not going on another business trip." I narrow my eyes at him to silently ask him to explain. "You'll find out when we get there. Please don't protest, I should've woken you up earlier but you looked so cute." He kisses my forehead again and I frown. "Jason I have classes tomorrow, so I don't think I'm in a position where I can spontaneously go somewhere with you. You can't afford that either."

"This is definitely not spontaneous, I promise." He places his left hand over his heart and his right hand in the air to emphasize his point. I take note that he looks very good today in Jeans and a black v neck top. His recent haircut makes him look a lot cuter. "Where are we going?" I ask again. "You don't need to worry about anything, babe. I promise I've already handled everything." He insists. "Is this why you've been extra busy?" "Maybe." He grins. "What time is it?" I ask. "It's quarter past nine. Please go and get ready, we have to leave as soon as possible. You know I don't like to keep my workers waiting, it makes me seem arrogant and rude." "Wait what about clothes? I don't know where we're going to or how long we're going for." "I took care of all of that I promise, just please go and get ready." I get out of bed and continue to stare at him as I rub the nape of my neck and walk towards the bathroom.
