A/N: 9 chapters leftttttttt omg I cannot believe it! Doesn't seem like its been too long since I started this in October 2013, so its been well over 2 years now. So much has happened throughout that time bracket, thank you so much for reading! I can't wait for the big finish hehe
I'm sorry I've been absent recently but I've just been enjoying my holidays as we should all be 😛 I'll try to make the updates more frequent x
(I wrote this chapter on multiple different occasions so excuse me if it seems poorly constructed or if there are a lot of spelling/ grammar mistakes! I genuinely apologise! x)

A number of ten days pass and as I've learned to work at home for the time being, I notice Britney passing the time mindlessly by reading books and smoking. Regardless I'm happy for her recovery, she seems to be calm and collected when awake but I still need to remember that she's been having night terrors. Almost every night she would wake up screaming, crying, and hitting me to wake me up and comfort her. It's not at all aggravating, in fact it just makes me depressed knowing that all of these horrible things have finally gotten the worst of her. She is a strong and smart woman, but she's also human, as we all are. Our limits, boundaries and breaking points are tested every single day. I worry for Britney's mental health because these circumstances are complicated. She doesn't want me to leave the penthouse, let alone leave it herself. I talk to her about attending her classes but she doesn't respond to me, she merely shakes her head. Simply tells me that a classmate will be kind enough to keep her posted on assignments and what not. When I ask her about what she wants to do about her job, she shrugs and just tells me that her boss understands the situation and actually encourages her to take another week off. Now I know that I am more than capable at supporting her in whatever way she needs, whether it be financially or emotionally. However its not healthy of her to give up on her life. I know that it's not her fault that she's been traumatised, but I simply want what's best for her. And what would be best for her is to continue with her classes and strive in life. She has so much potential, so much opportunity to be happy and to enjoy her life. It's my job to be her motivation and to encourage her when she needs it the most.

I stop typing on my computer and stare at Britney who was sitting beside me, smoking her fifth cigarette of the day, even though it's barely noon. I can't say that I blame her, at this point I'm just happy with the fact that she isn't hurting herself. If she's not on her phone she's reading so I suppose I should be glad that she's able to keep herself occupied.

I speak up once I see her flick the ashes from her burning cigarette onto my desk. "Use the ashtray." She stops scrolling through her phone. "Well I would if you passed it to me when I asked you to." Her voice is full of irritation and I sigh. "You never asked me." She groans and runs a hand through her hair. "My mistake. Sorry babe." She begins to cough and rubs her throat with a scowl on her face. "Are you okay?" I ask. "Yeah I'm just not feeling too well today for some reason." "I think that's enough for now, don't you think?" I take the cigarette from her hand and put it out in the ashtray that I had moved away from her a few minutes ago because I needed room to put folders down on my desk. "Wow." She shakes her head with a speechless laugh. "What?" I'm confused. "You did it. You're finally better than me. Look at you, you don't even have cravings anymore. I'm proud of you." "That wasn't my goal. Sometimes when you look after someone you love, it encourages you to be a better person." She sighs and I motion for her to sit on my lap. She complies and I bring my arms around her waist as I place a kiss on her neck.

A minute of silence passes and she sighs as I rub her hands. "Britney I want you to see a therapist." "No." "Why not? It's what you need. All I want is what's best for you." "What's best for me? How do you know what's best for me?" She asks, her tone is very hostile and she stands up. "Britney can you please just listen to me?" I ask delicately. "You know what? How about I just-" My phone begins to ring and she stares at me as I answer the call. "Cosmos speaking." "Jason it's Brad, listen I feel as if the others are still unclear of the objectives, I'm observing their performances as we speak and to be frank it's concerning me." "What are you concerned about, exactly?" I snap my fingers at Britney to catch her attention, mouthing the word ''stop' because I don't want her to leave the room just yet when we're still not done talking. She rolls her eyes as she crosses her arms and waits impatiently at the doorway. "The others," He stresses. "I don't believe that they're working at their full potential. I feel like their confused about something. Are you sure they know what they're doing?" "Listen to me Brad, I am in command here, and you need to learn your place before I show you. You are no different from my other stockholders, who, may I say, I believe to be working tenfold the rate that you are. Perhaps if you focused on yourself and not everyone else, you could impress me. Instead you chose to call me to discuss something so tedious that it's aggravated me. If you do decide to call me please make sure that it's worth me answering. The next time you want to bitch about your co-workers, don't come to me. Just do your job like I pay you to do." I end the call and shake my head. "Ignorant fuck." I look up too see that Britney was halfway out the door but I stand from my seat and run to her with no warning before bringing my arms around her waist from behind and I pick her up. She screams and kicks her legs. "Jason no, please, put me down." "We weren't done talking where do you think you're going?" "To the bathroom, I need to fucking pee, I'm not kidding let me go!" I give in and set her back down, only to receive a smack to my chest. "Don't do that again." She gives me a glare as she walks off. "Come back when you're done we still need to talk!" I shout to her. She shows me her rude finger from behind as she continues to walk and I laugh.
