Chapter 12

Third Person:

As the couple sat in silence, Topanga felt the tears begin to well up in her eyes. Cory was in shock, he definitely wasn't expecting this.
"C-Co-Cory? Say something, please?"
"I don't want another baby Topanga." He says, accidentally very coldly.
"W-why? Don't you love me anymore?" The tears began to race down the woman's face.
"Of course I do Topanga! It's-it's just, we can't afford another baby, we don't have the time, just everything. A baby wouldn't be practical."
"We can afford another baby! We have a lot more than before we had Auggie! And we were so young when we had Riley! I was still in school!"
"I'm sorry Topanga."
"Why are you being like this?"
"We're to stressed! What with my new job, our grandchild, and are you not concerned that your law firm isn't doing very well?"
"My law firm is fine! Your new job is understandable, stress and all but Amelie? What has Amelie got to do with this? We I haven't seen Riley in days! I miss her! I miss my baby! I feel like my children don't need me anymore! And seeing sweet baby Amelie, it makes me so broody! I miss having someone need me constantly!" Topanga explains, breaking down. Cory goes over to her and holds her tightly.
"Hey, it's okay." He coos to her. "I need you. And our children do need you! They love you, they need you!" He comforts her.
"But no baby?"
"Not yet."
"So somewhen?"
"Definitely."
"How about on our honeymoon from renewing our wedding vowels for our 20th anniversary?"
"Yes." He kisses her lovingly.
"Thank you."
"And now you have something to enters in yourself with when you're bored. You can plan our vowel renewal."
"Yeah, it will be like getting married all over again."
They kiss again.
"Come on, it's late, we've gotta be up early, let's go get some sleep." Cory suggests and the pair take themselves to bed.
"And hey, think about all the practice we can get for the babymaking." Cory winks at his wife.
"I love you Cornelius Matthews."
"Feeny told you, didn't he?"
She giggles in response.
"I love you too Topanga Matthews."
"Goodnight."
"G'night."
Topanga turns off the light and snuggles close to Cory, before quickly falling asleep.
