*The day of prom*Third Person:
With prom that night, the entire school was buzzing with excitement and anticipation to find out who their prom royalty would be and if it would be just like in the movies.
Riley's POV:
"So Enid you are coming to prom right?" I ask her, nervous that she'd say no because of the pregnancy.
"Yes, only prom itself though, not the after party though." She explains.
"Good! I can't wait! I still can't believe I was nominated for Junior Prom Queen! And Lucas Prom King! Maya was nominated too! It's sooooo exciting!" I squeal.
"Okay Riles, calm down. We still have a whole day of school to get through." Maya says sensibly. I sigh and take Lucas's hand before entering Harper's class. Yay.
"Welcome class! You have a test! It's worth a quarter of your grade for Junior year." Harper says cheerily. We all groan in frustration as we take our seats.
"You will have 90 minutes, you may begin." She informs as she arrives back at the front of the class from handing out the papers.
It goes by a blur, but I think I did okay. Maya didn't copy Farkle this time either.
At lunch, Lucas and I decide to go up to the roof to practice slow dancing before tonight. He isn't a very good slow dancer it's funny.
"Riley, I don't know the first thing about dancing." Lucas moans.
"Neither do I, I just remember my dad spinning me around on his toes when I was little."
"Can we get this over with already." He says and I press play on the speaker. Can I have this dance begins to play and I use it to guide him like in the song. Then a summer rain starts, we continue to dance until the bell rings and we run to our next lesson, arriving late and soaking wet. Whoops.*Later that day, just before prom*
Maya's POV:
Riley and I are at her old place, getting ready for prom with the help of Mrs Matthews, Lucas and Josh are getting ready at Riley and Lucas's place and Farkle and Enid are at their place, and Dad and Mr Matthews are chaperones so Mrs Matthews is taking care of Amelie.
Riley is currently finalising my hair, makeup and nails, I did hers, it's how we always have done it."When are the guys going to be here?" I ask impatiently.
"In about 15 minutes. Wanna put Amelie to bed with me?" Riley asks to distract me.
"Sure." We get up and go to the living room where Topanga is sat watching Amelie's TV shows, with her on her lap.
"Bed time Ams." Riley says taking her from her own mom, Amelie whines slightly but we can tell she is tired.
"Night Night kisses." Riley says to her daughter, holding her forward so Topanga can kiss her granddaughter, and then leaning her forward to me to kiss the 1 year old. We take her into Riley's old bedroom where a crib is set up and lay her down. We put a lullaby on from the toy hanging above the crib and she falls asleep almost immediately.
"She's so beautiful Riley." I tell her quietly.
"I just love her so much Peaches. I didn't think it was possible to love someone this much." She whispers back. Then the doorbell rings. We look at each other excitedly and rush to get it. Riley opens it and it is just Dad and Cory.
"Oh it's you." She says disappointed.
"Gee, thank you daughter."
"We though you guys were Josh and Lucas." I tell them.
"Sorry to disappoint!" Dad says slightly sarcastically.
"You two look beautiful." Mr Matthews assures us.
"Thank you Daddy." Riley says hugging him.
"Maya, I'm so proud you are my daughter." Dad says to me, giving me a hug. Apparently Prom is an emotional time. I am still hugging my dad when there is a knock at the door, but it is Ava.
"I thought it was really them that time." I sigh.
"Maya relax, they'll be here soon." Topanga calms me.
"Thank you. I don't know why I'm panicking."
"You're practicing for the wedding."
"Probably subconsciously."
Riley and I decide to go to her room to check on Amelie and get our purses.
When we walk back out, they are stood there, my prom has finally begun. Wow. I check Josh out in his suit and I soon find myself breathless. He's mine, I feel a smile creep onto my face.
"Wow, Maya, boy you look gorgeous." He says in amazement. I run up and hug him tightly.
"I love you." I whisper in his ear.
"I love you too."
I let go and look over a Riley and Lucas, he has the same look on his face as the one on their first date, he approaches her, takes her hand and spins her round before gently slipping on her corsage.
"Happy Prom Maya." Josh says to me, drawing me away from my best friend's romantic entrance with her date, Joshua gives me my corsage and squeezes my hand lovingly.
"Thank you." I lean in to my fiancé and he goes to kiss me and.
"Pictures!" Dad interrupts getting his camera. I roll my eyes and Josh chuckles. I take some with Riley, and Topanga and Cory for some and Dad, lots with Josh and some the four of us and some the seven of us.
Then the four of us go down and pile into our hired limo.
"Hey, Maya beautiful. You alright, your eyes are glistening." Josh asks me quietly.
"Yes, it's just I never thought about going to prom, or going with a date, getting to this age or anything let alone going with the love of my life. Because I really love you." He strokes my cheek before leaning in to kiss me, we kiss passionately and then keep our faces close to each other looking into each other's eyes for a little while longer.
"Awe, you guys are so cute." Riley says, making Josh and I feel uncomfortable.
"You were watching the whole thing?" I ask.
"Pretty much, yeah." Lucas answers.
"Thanks." Josh laughs and before we know it we are here. Josh takes my hand and helps me out the limo.
"You look stunning." He tells me. I smile and take his hand.
"Ready?" He asks.
"You bet. Let's do this." I says and we walk in hand in hand. Prom, wow.
