Lucas's POV:
Two guns shots ring out, my only thought is Amelie, and I watch my Mom fall to the ground, I turn around to see that the two FBI agents are behind us, JJ and the clever kid. One took their shot through the open window and the other in the door way. My Mom had been shot in the head and heart.
As soon as it all processes I speed over to Amelie who is screaming her little heart out.
"Hey, ssshhh, it's okay, Daddy's here. Daddy's got you. You're okay. You're okay. I missed you." I coo these same things over and over again to her, whilst holding her tightly to my chest rocking her.
"We'll need to take your daughter to hospital to be checked out to make sure she is okay. But then, it'll all be over. But I am sorry about your mother." The blonde agent comes over and says to me.
"Yeah, I don't know what to feel, she was my mom but she stole my daughter. And my daughter is my world, and I will protect her forever and no one lays a finger on her without punishment."
"Another member of my team is bringing down your girlfriend."
"Thank you ma'am."
I go and sit on the orange chair I have had many awkward dates on with Amelie who is still whimpering with fear, and trembling. It breaks my heart to see my little baby this scared.
"Amelie!" I hear Riley cry as she runs towards us with the agent that was at our apartment and another 2 men follow slowly behind. I hand Amelie over to Riles gently.
"Oh my poor baby. I love you." She says to her in tears.
"The agent said we'll need to take her to the hospital to get her checked out." I tell Riley.
"Okay." She says holding Amelie tightly.
"Mr Friar, Miss Matthews, I can take you to the hospital myself on my way through to our hotel. I'm SSA Agent Rossi, by the way." One of the men who followed Riley into the cafe offered. I shake his hand.
"That'd be great, thank you Sir, so long as it isn't to much trouble?" I say.
"Of course not."
We say goodbye to my Dad and we go with Agent Rossi to the hospital.
