Today, Maya and I find out if we are having a boy or a girl, I'm really excited, I want a girl but we think it's a boy though. We are currently sat in the waiting room of the hospital, waiting for the appointment.
"I can't wait to see our baby again." Maya tells me, gently stroking her small, but very noticeable bump.
"Me neither, do you think it's gonna be Mason or Olympia?" I say, referring to the names we have already picked out.
"I don't know, but what I do know is that I love the names we picked out." She chuckles and kisses me.
"You haven't felt anything wrong that you want to tell the doctor since the incident with the fall?" I ask, still concerned.
"No, don't worry Josh, we are all good."
"Okay, I really wanna feel her or him kick!" I say.
"Me too, it'll probably start happening soon if you carry on talking to them as much as you do." Maya explains.
"Really?"
"Probably, I don't know, ask the doctor."
"Maya Matthews?" We are interrupted by a nurse calling Maya's name. I stand up and help Maya up and we follow the nurse.
"If you'd like to take a seat on the bed Mrs Matthews, Dr Stamos will be in shortly." The nurse explains and then leaves and I help Maya onto the bed.
"Good Morning, Mr & Mrs Matthews. How are we today?" Dr Stamos says coming into the room, we have met him once before at Maya's 12 week scan.
"Good thank you doctor." Maya says in reply.
"So, shall we take a look at baby?" He says clapping his hand together and me and Maya nod yes, and he turns on the ultrasound machine, and squeezes the blue gel onto Maya's bump, warning her of the temperature beforehand, soon an image appears on the screen.

I squeeze Maya's hand tightly.
"There you have it, a perfectly healthy baby. Would you like to know the sex?" He asks us and we nod.
"You're having a baby girl!"
I gasp happily and move my eyes from the screen to look over at Maya who has tears beginning to form.
"Hear that My? We having a daughter." I say to her and she continues to cry.
"And, here is the stone and healthy heartbeat." The doctor says as a rhythmic noise fills the room. Maya still stays quiet in shock.
"Any questions?" He asks us, Maya shakes her head no.
"Um, when will we feel it-I mean her- kick?" I ask.
"Any time now. Talking and playing music to them helps. And how many pictures would you like of the sonogram?"
"Okay thank you. And 8 please." I say, shaking his hand as he leaves.
"My, you okay?" I ask her, she nods slowly.
"Y-yeah, it's just finally, I'm completely happy and scared it's too good to be true."
"Well you better believe it baby, because only 22 weeks until Olympia is here."
"Yeah, Olympia. Josh, we're having a daughter." She says, mesmerised.
"I know babe, you pleased?"
"Definitely." She says as she wiped away the blue gel and carefully climbing off the bed, then the nurse comes in and gives us the photos and we leave.
"Where to first? Riley's or my parents or your dad's?" I ask Maya as we walk out the hospital.
"Starbucks!" She laughs.
"Okay, but no coffee."
"Okay. Then your parents house." She says and I put my arm around her petite body, walking her to the nearest Starbucks. We get our caffeine free drinks, (anything Maya can't have, I'm not having either) and a slice of cake before going to see my parents and Mr Feeny.
"Ma! Dad! Mr Feeny!" I call out walking through the door.
"Joshua! Maya! What do we owe this pleasant surprise?" My mom says hugging us both as we come into the living room.
"And how's my grand-baby?" She asks patting Maya's bump, with Dad and Feeny watching.
"I think you mean granddaughter." I say looking at Maya happily and the three of them gasp.
"Son? You're having a girl?" Dad asks.
"Yeah pops. Can you believe it?"
"No. My youngest is becoming a dad, I feel older than ever."
"You're already old." I tease and we all sit down.
"Well, congratulations you too." Mr Feeny says eventually.
"Thank you sir." Maya says.
"Oh and we have this for you all." I says and distribute the sonogram photo to them.
"Thank you. She's gonna be so beautiful." Mom says.
"We have already named her too." I say.
"Olympia." Maya adds and they all smile.
"That's wonderful." Dad says and we make small talk between the five of us for a short while before heading to Cory's to repeat the process, Shawn happens to be there too and Riley and Lucas, Amelie, Auggie and Ava. Which saves us some time.
They all have similar reactions to Mr Feeny, Ma and Dad, but there is more squealing down to Topanga and Riley.
We stay for dinner there with everyone but leave soon after that as Maya is tired. When we arrive home we head straight to our bedroom and change for bed.
"Can I talk to Olympia for a bit before we go to sleep?" I ask Maya, who is climbing into bed.
"Sure, she might kick. We could sing to her too." She chuckles at the last part.
"Why not? We can both sing." I shrug and crouch down to her bump, pushing up her vest top to see her bare skin. At first, I trace my fingers along some scars on her stomach and hips from her cutting.
"It's okay. I'm okay now Josh, I haven't done it in a long time." Maya lifts up my head to face her and reassures me, and then I proceed to talk to the baby.
"Hi babygirl, it's you daddy here. I love you. We found out that you were a girl today and everyone is really excited. And, we have decided to name you Olympia, how do you like that?" I say softly to her and then I feel a movement come from the bump, I flinch slightly in shock.
"Was that-did she-Maya did you feel that too?" I say.
"Yeah Boing, that was her first kick." She chuckles.
"I think she likes her name." I say leaving the room to fetch my guitar.
"What are you doing with that Josh?"
"You may not have been serious about singing to our daughter but I am. And you are gonna too." I say, getting the guitar in position.
"What song then?" Maya asks, giving in.
"My choice for our wedding song."
"This is what it takes?"
"Yeah. Ready?" I asks ms she nods so I begin to strum the introduction, and then we sing it in harmony.
"You know Boing, we don't sound that bad." Maya says when we finish, rubbing circles around her bump.
"Olympia clearly liked it, she wouldn't stop kicking." She adds.
"Or she hated it and wanted us to stop." I tease her as I put my guitar down and climb into bed next to Maya.
"I doubt it babe. Goodnight Joshua, and Olympia." She says adjusting her position to fall asleep.
"Goodnight My, and Olympia. I love you both."
"We love you too." She replied and wrap my arms around Maya and her bump, protectively, and we both soon fall asleep.
